I thought it was an alrite movie, frankly speaking I didn't like the portrayal of Slughorn, he was shown to be some dimwitted bloke.. but then again that's most probably how the director imagined him. Personally I never imagined him to be such a dimwit..the movie was much better than the 4th installment, though not better than the 5th one. I think the 5th one was a tad bit better. The young Voldy parts were emaculately presented, and both the young kid and the teenage actor were amazing...it was one of the best scenes...I absolutely lurvedddd Tom Felton's portrayal of Malfoy...he was bloody amazing...
You didn't like Slughorn ? 😲 OMG He was the best part of the film ! Jim Broadbent was absolutely awesome as Slughorn. Well I don't think he was potrayed to be dumb, I guess his expressions were simply funny. The basic characterstic of his character ( according to the book ) was eccentricity. That was brilliantly captured. Although, our views might differ :)
The 5th was a brilliant film, but I'd say that the 6th one was a scale higher, primarily because it had a perfect balance of everything. If I laughed throughout the first half, then I also ended up biting my nails during the scene in the cave inspite of knowing the storyline. And yes, the young Voldy scenes were brilliantly done. Chilling dialogues overlayed upon an eerie silence. They were awesome. ⭐️ And yeah, Tom Felton shone through ! Damn I didn't know he was such a great actor :D
I think the biggest problem with HP movies are that the directors keep changing, there is no continuity...which leads to a lot of changes..from picturisation to their interpretation of the characters et al.. But all in all a decent attempt...
On the contrary, I think that's an advantage. More directors = Variety in perspective. If one director continued to direct the films, I think that would somewhat restrict the picturization. Some may like Mike Newell more, while others may prefer David Yates. So I guess it's always good to see how different people envision the books 😃
Anyhow, I loved the film 😊
