Chapter 6

"I told you that your clothes are in the dryer, wait a while and then you can take them out." Sharon's eyes could have daggered Swayam in that very moment.

They sat in silence staring at each other and letting the sunlight somehow illuminate the darkness out of their lives, though it wasn't really working. It was making their insides much darker.

Then she spoke up again, "I regret seeing you that day." He looked up again, "don't I as well."

"Then why do this? What peace will you actually get out of this? We both don't love each other and you made it clear yourself. Find someone else Swayam, be happy! Just let me go."

She was begging for him to listen, hoping that her words would sink in.

"I put my life on hold for you Sharon, you were young but I wasn't. I waited those years knowing that once you were ready I could have had the future I planned for myself. You took that away from me. Don't you think I tried; I dated, tried falling in love and miserably failed. Apart from sex I don't think I actually got anything else out of all those women."

Sharon's eyes stunned, not that he was sleeping with other women because she expected that, but because he was casually doing so. Swayam was never the man to do anything without feelings. He was always in too deep.

She watched him speak and then paused before speaking herself, "how many women?"

Swayam coughed a fake laugh, "Jealous are we?"

She stared back at him without fear, "we're getting married, I suppose I have the right to know to know that you haven't contracted a STD, so no I'm not jealous unlike you I did have meaningful relationships after you. People that impacted my life for my better, relationship that I actually value."

It was Swayam's turn to stiffen, at that moment he didn't care if she was jealous or not, because he sure as hell was burning inside with rage.

"How many?" he sternly asked.

Sharon's eyebrow arched immediately, she was amused, "ouch, I think I just hit a nerve. Remember that I asked first?"

Her attitude wasn't helping at all, I don't know Sharon lets just say I found a new girl to screw every month, that would make is 12x5, equalling a hell allot of women." He wanted to rile her up because the number he gave was quite far fetched, distant from the truth in every which way.

Sharon' heart crushed at hearing him say that out loud, It was disgusting thinking of Swayam like that, but she couldn't let him see that she was hurt. "You make my three relationships look like a mere joke. Congratulations Swayam Shekhawat, on scoring so dam high." She flatly stated.

Her words stung him more than he wanted to admit, it was their secret battle of destruction.

He didn't know how else to change the conversation, "how bout a tour of your new home, this is where you'll be moving in." Spreading his arms in mock exaggeration.

Her eyes scanned the beautiful villa, "I guessed so, nothing really new here Swayam."

He was surprised, "so what you're not fighting me on moving here instead? What happened to all the feminism?" He laughed at her.

Straight faced and blank expression on her face, "you forget Swayam, before a feminist I'm an opportunist. I see my benefit before anything else, as you have experienced that first hand." She stung him deep and smirked at him, just so she could relish in the pain that flashed in his eyes.

"By the way it's closer to my work, convenient for me, since you asked."

He was almost disappointed at not seeing her get agitated this time; her disagreement was almost bringing him pleasure. She was so calculative now, and playing her own game.

"Out of curiosity? Why don't you have a car? The law firm you work at could surely afford you almost anything you want."

Taken back by his casual question she looked in un-assurance, then finally spoke up, "my last one broke down, I sold it and haven't had the time to go out properly to buy one. Apparently a wedding has kept me unnecessarily busy."

Truthfully Swayam's new found involvement in her life had disturbed everything, she didn't even get a chance to think that she was supposed to buy her car soon. Everything was so out of place.

His arbitrary questions continued, "How long will you be allowed to take off from work? For the wedding I mean."

She was thrown off naturally, but shocked at how calmly he had assumed that it was going that entire well, "About two weeks at most. I'm a forth year associate, the level of responsibility is quite high." She had that monotone again, making sure to sound mechanical about her life and hoping that he would be disinterested in her.

Swayam got up and left the room for a while, leaving Sharon with her thoughts in his oddly beautiful home. The warmth in his villa was so different to the coldness Swayam himself possessed. He was dark and cruel, and she knew in her own small way she had to fight back for her own survival.

He came back into the room with her dried clothes in his hand, "I believe these are yours. Take your time and shower, and I'll have breakfast ready and then I can drop you."

She hesitated immediately, "I'll just change, just call me a cab that's all. You've done more than enough Swayam."

But he wasn't going to take no for an answer, " did I tell you that you look deliciously sexy in my shirt," Pausing he smirked again. "well now you do." Eyeing her down from her toes, to her long legs and then to her face, she was just dumbstruck by his split personality. It even induced a tiny blush that she prayed wouldn't show on her face.

"What ever you do I'm not leaving you empty stomach Sharon, not after the shit loads of bourbon you gulped last night, and surprisingly not throwing up either."

She knew no matter what he was going to do what he wanted to do, so she took the liberty as well and went to the shower, and then changed into her own clothes.

Upon getting back as promised he had breakfast ready, pancakes and hash browns, knowing they were once her favourite. They ate silently; occasionally while sipping their coffee they would take a glance at each other. It frustrated her that, had he approached her differently this time, maybe they could have been in love, maybe they could have still been on a better path, but instead he was hell-bent on punishing her.

Handing Sharon back her bag Swayam headed towards his car, the ride was once again silent with more than enough animosity in the air. But they kept their heads cool enough for it to be over soon.

The following week went by as quickly as any other; work indulged both Swayam and Sharon even if they were on each other's mind. Sharon that Friday evening was packing up her things and making sure that she didn't end up at the bar again, and instead decided to enjoy some red wine in the privacy of her apartment. She was also grateful that Swayam hadn't contacted her that week. There was some peace or silence at last between them. As Sharon was collecting her files she saw her senior partner Aaron Welsh walk into her office. Smart, slick and sexy were the only words attributed to this man. In fact he had been trying to ask Sharon out for a while and truthfully she wanted to say yes because he was indeed perfect, had it not been for her situation with Swayam she would have.

"Great work on the Henderson case Sharon, you're a quick thinker and saved us all from allot of unnecessary trouble and tones of paperwork." Sharon smiled in return.

Aron spoke again, "So as you know I'm not here to give you a pat on the back, you know how good you are and I am proud of it. I wanted to take you out tonight?"

Sharon was stunned because a couple of weeks ago she would have jumped for the offer, now she truly didn't know what to say, even though her insides were becoming mush.

"Please say yes Sharon?"

Sharon smiled in return, "I'm in a very complicated place right now, I don't know how to even state my position. Its not fair on you and I don't want to give you any hopes."

Aaron still persisted, "Ok so how bout this, I drop you home since you still haven't gotten your car, we get some take out on the way back, crack open a decent bottle of wine at your place. Nothing too serious, please just give me this at least."

She smiled genuinely, for the first time in a very long time.

Then she replied with glee, "I think I can manage that."

Aaron celebrated in relief.

Picking up Chinese take out on the way home Sharon noticed her phone, Swayam had one missed call. She ignored it immediatley, deciding that he couldn't possibly ruin her date tonight or whatever this with Aron was. Reaching her apartment she relaxed herself, brought out the plates while Aaron removed his tie, rolled up his sleaves and opened his two top button. Everything about that action reminded her of Swayam, she didn't necessarily feel guilty, but she hated that she was still thinking about him when this man was begging her for his attention. And Aron had looks that needed no begging.

They both dug in, their conversation was light but relaxing, their ideologies were surprisingly very similar. They didn't even realise how time was running away, checking her clock she noticed that it was almost 12. Then her eyes went straight to her phone, which she had purposely put aside, noticing the 20 missed calls from Swayam. At this point she didn't know what to think before she heard the doorbell ring.

Aaron was surprised that this late someone was there to see her. She checked her video monitor, and immediately dreaded it when she saw Swayam's face standing outside her building. She couldn't believe that things could possibly get any worse this evening. Not thinking clearly she opened the door with the press of a button, without talking to him on the intercom. Noticing how he ran straight up towards her apartment to knock on it. The minute the first knock happened her heart sank because this date was clearly not something he was going to like, and knowing Swayam these days he would completely misinterpret everything.

Releasing the lock she let in a very concerned Swayam who was babbling, "knowing what happened last Friday I just got worried so tried calling you and then you didn't pick up so came to see if you were ok." He was genuinely concerned knowing the bar fiasco last Friday. Sharon's eyes in that moment were terrified because the first person Swayam's eyes lay upon weren't her, but Aaron instead.

It didn't take a genius to map out that it was a date taking place, the wine, the music and the odd two candles on the table. By the second the rage inside him started to build up, Sharon didn't even realise when Aaron had lit the candles, but this didn't look good at all. This looked bad from any angle.

No one spoke for a moment until Aaron did, "Um I'm sorry, can we help you? We were in the middle of something you see." Sharon cringed.

Swayam's voice was as confident as anything, but evidently threatening to Sharon as she was the only one to realize his tone.

"I just came to see my fianc in the middle of the night, I'm sure you understand that."

As if someone had fired a bullet and no one decided to react was how everyone in the room was behaving. Then it hit Aaron that Sharon wasn't lying to him when she said things were complicated, but he was the fool who still went ahead with his plans.

He was lost for words but tied to pick the shattered pieces of his dignity, "Oh um, I'll leave you both to it then." Grabbing his jacket and tie, Aaron walked out the door but making sure to kiss Sharon on the cheek and lightly whisper, "I should have listened to your version of complicated." She mimed an apology and then closed the door in embarrassment. This was horrible.

Turning to see Swayam who was staring at the skyline from her window and then spoke out not looking at her, "I'm guessing you were in a hurry to match up to my numbers before we got married?" He spat at her in venom.

She was scared at first but also irritated, "I was having dinner with a colleague, stop making a big fuss about it."

Swayam hit his hand against the wall with that, "SHUT THE HELL UP, HE WANTED TO f**k YOU LEFT RIGHT AND CENTRE, AND YOU SEEMED IN A MORE THAN WILLING MOOD!"

Sharon was scared of his loud voice, more like terrified but she had to act brave.

"SO WHAT SWAYAM, WHAT IS IT TO YOU. YOU WANT A CHILD FROM ME AND THAT'S IT! I WANT MORE THAN THAT! DON"T YOU FUKEN TELL ME WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO!" Sharon screamed on top of her lungs.

"I WAS f**kEN READY TO GIVE YOU SO MUCH MORE THAN ALL THIS SHARON, I COULD'VE LAID MY LIFE FOR YOU. I WOULD HAVE LISTEND TO EVERY SMALL THING YOU WANTED YET YOU COULDN"T TRUST ME WITH SOMETHING SO BIG. HAD YOU GIVEN ME THE CHOICE I WOULD HAVE SUPPORTED YOU! YOU WERE JUST A FUKEN COWARD. JUST A COWARD!"

He voice matching hers, and her mouth opening to retort to his harsh comments.

" STOP BLAMING ME FOR YOUR LIFE! JUST STOP! YOU'RE A GROWN MAN FOR GOD'S SAKE! MOVE THE FU*K ON!,..." before she could finish her words Swayam had taken a step forward and grabbed her by the neck to pin her against the wall. Her chest heaved and he breathed heavily knowing he was going to loose his very mind. They stood like that in silence but his eyes were on her soft lips, the ones he missed kissing every day. Sharon on the other hand was mortified, his rage scared her but she knew where it came from. Swayam loved her too much, and that sometimes has the capability of destroying someone where their expectation don't meet up. She knew she broke them, and she knew he was hurting, and she definitely knew she was responsible for his pain at the very least. What she let him do next was something she never expected herself to do.

He lunged his tongue into her mouth forcefully while she struggled against the wall. She could taste him, but he was laced with anger and venom. A kiss burning on hatred had never tasted so good though, his mouth exploring hers, and hers was note being set free. She was struggling for minuets but his hold on her was far to strong, he was too aggressive with only just his mouth that she feared what might happen next.

But she still missed those familiar lips, and the taste of his mouth, the scent of his cologne, and the ever light touch of his stubble. After the countless minuites struggling against the wall, the push of her hand had given up. She gave up with this in her mind that she will let him take his buried anger out, anger that had only words attached but no way to physically release the pain. She was going to be his release; she was going to be his punching bag if that be it. He had to let go of his anger; he had to take it out once and for all out on her so it finally left his chest. She had to take the pain that was coming her way so that he could move on, or at least try to.

Her own two hands were now grasping his neck and then moving into his silky hair. She wasn't completely out of it, she knew exactly what was happening. She missed him for so long that even she became his punching bag, she would get to feel some part of him that she could never openly admit she missed. She needed the pain to feel herself again.

Swayam became more and more aggressive with his movement, and at times almost harsh by biting her lip ruthlessly. He manoeuvred Sharon somehow so he could shove her on the couch, and then get ready to take her then and there. The soft cushion hit Sharon's back as she smashed down on the couch. Swayam didn't let go of her for even a second and instead took one hand to start unbuttoning her blouse. Sharon immediately realised what he was going to do and stopped him from going further, and took a long awaited breath by pulling slightly away but closer to his lust driven phase. "Fu*k me all you want, but my clothes aren't coming off." Swayam knew exactly why she said that, she didn't want any feelings involved and truthfully neither did he. She slid her hand down her skirt and unleashed the zipper all the way down, leaving nothing but the lace fabric of her underwear. Swayam's eyes burned at the sight, and then he lunged his tongue back into her mouth, skimming his own fingers over the lace Sharon realised how intimate it still was no matter what she did to block him out. Swayam didn't waste any time either, he was going to play by her rules as well and then started to unbuckle his belt. What followed for the next hour or so was definitely not lovemaking, but rather a way to create pain over and over again. Sharon's screams and moans were indistinguishable. The aggressive movements, the piercing moaning and groaning, and the sheen layer of sweat that meshed over their foreheads. Sharon was sure that she had collapsed along the way out of pure exhaustion, but finally when it stopped a relief washed over her. It truly hit her that she had never felt so much physical pain before, and she let him do it to her. It wasn't as if the hatred had disappeared but they were ready to be at each other's throats again, quite literally.

Swayam gathered himself up after an extended pause. He looked at her pale and fragile form dug deep into the couch, her eyes bloodshot and her body exhausted. He regretted every action the second her form came into vision. Sharon weakly called out, "do feel better? Do you feel I got what I deserved? Do you feel we are even?" Her eyes looked away, and he left before shame and guilt killed him. Sharon lay motionless with her heart pounding from exhaustion, thudding against her ribcage. Her eyes still not connecting to her brain, and reaffirming what they had actually done on her sofa in that moment. She was in pain but not completely physical, emotional as well, she was desperate for him to take it out on her. He had to because he kept it inside him for too many years, she didn't deserve any of it, but she volunteered just for his sake so he could survive. She knew the guilt would kill him, but maybe now she could revive him back as well. The extreme pain of her body made her fall asleep.

The next morning ignorance and denial was her only way to move forward. She tried going about her Saturday as normally as one could; she was quite successful at it as well, until her doorbell rang. Not recognising the man at the door she let him up to her apartment. The man was simply a personal deliveryman who handed her an envelope and a black velvet pouch. He took his leave and she opened the letter first, reading

I bought this for you yesterday morning, and thought it would be a perfect pre-wedding gift. Last night I became an animal who lost all his sense. This isn't me making up for it, but what's mine is already yours so don't bother sending it back.

From Swayam

In the black velvet pouch a Mercedes star key appeared, Sharon realised that he had gifted her a car. She ran downstairs to see where the man would have parked it, noticing that it was waiting for her in her driveway. He had gifted her a black f**ken SLK-250!

😃 love you sooo much. You are the only writer who updates her FF without any demands or any kind of pleading from her readers. 🤗
I loved how Swayam treated her in his house, giving her breakfast, dropping her home which just shows he is so deeply in love with her and cares for her. She too i thinks the same from her POV. I expected Swayam to behave badly when he saw the other guy at her house. So sweet of him to buy her car. Wow that too a mercedes benz.. 👏.

Lovely update I enjoyed it thoroughly. Please do keep on writing and updating. you are not getting the publicity that you should be getting. Let me send PMs to my friends.
