"Tum..?

Hearing a familiar voice from behind her, Taani turned around slowly. Rey was standing there with confusion written on his face. She looked at him, nervously.

"Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho..? Aur door pe itni jor se kyun bang kar rahi ho..? he asked confused, thinking what she is doing here, in store room. But she was standing there like statue without uttering a word.

"Taani, main tumse kuch puch raha hoon... tum yahan store room mein kya kar rahi ho aur mujhe aise kyun dekh rahi ho... jawab do..? Rey asked her again little louder, coming close to her when she didn't move a bit and this made her came out of her shock state and she took a step back.

"Woh... woh main... library ja rahi thi par galti se yahan aa gayi aur fir yeh darwaza band (lock) ho gaya. She shuttered as she answered him and looked down.

Rey gave WTH look as how's this possible that door locked itself but then noticed Taani, who was playing with her finger while looking down due to fear. She was looking like a lost child which made his lips curled up in smile forgetting his anger.

Looking at her, he can sense her being scared around him and somewhere it hurt him when she didn't look at him. But ignoring his own emotions, he thought to help her.

"Taani, don't worry... kuch nahi hoga. Tum pareshan mat ho. Main door kholne ki koshish karta hoon. Okay..? He said in calm tone to make her comfortable and walked towards the door and tried to open the door but all his efforts went in vain.

Seeing him trying so hard, she also thought to help him and start calling for someone but as it was already late and college has ended so hardly anyone would be there to listen their call for help.

Rey looked at her scared face when no one came to help them and thought for another way to open the door. He took out his phone from his pocket and tried to call his friends but no use as there was no network.

"No network. He murmured annoyed but she heard it. Knowing its waste of energy to try to open the door, he went away from there and sat on a floor, resting his back to the cupboard placed behind him, silently. But she didn't give up and was continuously banging on the door for seeking help.

"Koi fyada nahi hai... bekaar mein hi koshish kar rahi ho. Iss time pe waise bhi koi nahi hoga college mein. He said to stop her to waste her energy.

"Toh ab..? she asked worried.

"Ab kuch nahi... jab morning mein sab aayenge tabhi yeh door khulega. Rey replied in lazy tone as if this isn't a big deal. Taani looked at him with wide eyes that how he can be so calm and unaffected with being locked in store room for whole night.

"Subah mein...? Par hum raat bhar yahan kaise rahenge..? she asked again.

"Aur koi option bhi nahi hai hamare paas iske alawa. Hume raat bhar yahin rukna padega aur jab morning mein college open hoga tabhi hum bahar ja payenge. He said in calm tone to make her relax. She nodded her head slightly agreeing with him.

"Ab kya tum raat bhar wahin darwaze ke paas khadi rahogi...? he asked her after sometime with raised eyebrows but then sighed getting no answer from her, he signalled her with his eyes to sit next to him.

Seeing her getting nervous and not moving from her place, don't know why but he felt disappointed thinking that she didn't even want to sit with him, so he thought to tell her to sit somewhere else if not with him but before that she starts walking towards him and sat next to him. He felt relieved and little bit happy too but reason was unknown to him.

There was an awkward silence between them as no one knew what they should do. Both were battling with their inner thoughts... Do they start talking to kill this deafening silence or let it be like this..? Who should start first and How?

"Ummm... tum library kyun ja rahi thi..? Rey asked to start a conversation.

"Wo... gaav (village) mein mere subjects alag the aur yahan pe alag to mujhe notes banane ke liye books chahiye thi. She replied in low tone.

"Ohh... toh yahan store room mein kaise aa gayi..? he asked again.

"Maine kisi se raasta pucha tha par shayad mujhe hi samjh nahi aaya aur galti se yahan aa gayi. He nodded on her reply and again an awkward silence prevailed between them.

Both were pretending to looking around but each other, but in reality they were stealing glances at each other but without other ones' notice.

It is an hour or so they were sitting there silently and now this silence was killing them but more than that hunger was disturbing them.

Suddenly he remembered about the sandwiches, which he had bought from canteen before coming here in the store room, for nil and vicky. He stood up from his place and went where the parcel has kept. He took it and came back to his place and taking out the sandwiches, he gave one to her.

"Nahi... mujhe bhookh nahi hai. She denied.

"Kha lo, hume puri raat yahin rukna hai. He ordered her and seeing his stern look she took it from him. Unknowingly, he felt happy that she is feeling comfortable with him and same with Taani.

He starts munching his own after taking a bite but she was still looking at him, admiring him. This is the first time they are sitting with each other without him shouting at her or ignoring her and she likes this, actually she likes this Rey, who is so cool, live his life happily, support his friends, who cares for his loved ones but she has never witnessed this side of him with her, maybe because she is the reason he has been forced in this relation and this leads to him became rude and distant from his own people. There always will be guilt in her heart for doing this to him but she can't do anything.

She jerked out from her thought when she heard her name been called. She looked at him who was already looking at her with confusion written on his face.

"Kya hua..? Tum kha kyun nahi rahi ho? he asked her. He was eating his food when he felt her gaze on him and looked at her, who was staring at him with small smile on her lips but then her smile changed into a frown and then in a hurt. He doesn't know what she was thinking but something which made her sad, so he couldn't able to stop himself to ask her.

"Kuch nahi. She replied in low tone and avoiding his gaze starts eating her food.

He felt hurt because he knew she won't share her thoughts with him but still he asked but brushed his thoughts away.

"Hey, nil... Vicky... did you see Rey somewhere..? shanaya stopped and asked them when she noticed them passing by the RH. She was searching for Rey from so long but don't know where he has disappeared.

"Arey, hum to khud hi use dund (search) kar rahe the, par lagta hai wo ghar chala gaya hai as college me koi bhi nahi dikh raha aur ab hum bhi ja rahe hai. Nil replied which made shanaya sad and this isn't go unnoticed by them.

"Par tum use kyun dund rahi ho..? Aur itni upset kyun ho..? Vicky asked her with raised eyebrow.

"Aise hi.. I mean mujhe kuch baat karni thi Rey se aur uska phone bhi unreachable aa raha hai kafi der se, so... she replied avoiding the main reason behind her sadness.

"Ohh...okay then, bye. Both got convinced with her reply so they left from there leaving an upset and angry shanaya who was cursing her bad luck because she again missed the chance to spend time with Rey. From so many days she is trying to spend some alone time with Rey, so she can get close to him but every time something would happen and her plan got failed. She thought to talk to him tomorrow and left from there.

"I'm Sorry. Rey said after a long silence which made her look at him with frown.

"Uss din maine tumhari baat nahi suni aur tumpe gussa kiya. Rey answered her unasked question.

"Nahi, isme aapki koi galti nahi hai, mujhe aapse pahle puchna chahiye tha. She said in low tone as if she has done a mistake.

How can she be like this..? I mean, it's totally her decision that what she wants to do or don't in her life, then why should she ask me or get my permission for anything. Is she for real or just pretending..? NO... She is not pretending and I'm sure of it but why is she so sweet with me when I'm the one who always behave rudely with her... or maybe this is her nature to be nice with everyone because from the day I've met her, never seen her talk to anyone in loud voice, let alone shouting or getting angry on someone.' He was lost in his thoughts when something soft feather like touched on his arm and brought him back into real life.

He looked at her and found that it was her hand which had touched him accidently when she was rubbing her arms and then only he noticed the temperature has decreased and because of that she is shivering in cold. She got nervous what if he gets angry thinking she is trying to get close to him but his next action shocked her to no extent. He removed his jacket and covered her with it, she looked at him who was already looking at her with emotions in his eyes which she has never seen before.

Both were looking into each other's eyes, she was trying to read his mind and he her heart. Every time they look into each other's eyes and they felt seeking the needed warmth, which gives them peace. Only one look of theirs and both felt completed.

She looked down shyly, realizing what she was doing; this made him too came back into his senses. Both sat straight not looking at each other but stealing glances at each other from corner of their eyes.

As time passes Rey felt sleepy and starts leaning against the cupboard and slowly closed his eyes. Taani looked at him, who was also feeling cold so she covered him with the jacket which he had given her but suddenly he grabbed her hand and pulled it close to his heart, wrapping his other hand over it in sleep. She tried to free her hand from his grip, without disturbing his sleep but stopped trying feeling his tight grip. She looked up at him, his eyes were closed and his face was looking so calm and peaceful.

She shift closer to him so they both can be covered with his jacket and soon sleep took over her and she slept leaning on his shoulder.
