This is my very first time writing on kriyaansh and Im really excited about it. Ive been thinking over this for a while now, so im finally putting it down. It isn't very long and I haven't got a chance to proof read courtesy my never ending exams. Ive used a lot of symbolism because I personally find it very romantic, so you might not like it if that's not your thing, but nevertheless give it a shot. This is dedicated to someone very special to me, so I hope you enjoy it. Im obviously not sending PMs because I have a grand total of 2 people in my buddy listđ Anyways here goes
Kriya's POV
She had always felt a deep, almost intimate connection with the beach, she loved the feel of the sand between her toes, the playful wind that whipped her hair against her face and the setting Sun that cast a orangey-red glow to her cheeks and having become the only place that offered her any solitude, the connection had only deepened. It was the one place she could escape the constant pitying glances that her aunt cast her when she thought she wasn't looking, where she could forget about the pain that had made a permanent residence in what was left of her heart if only for a few hours and painstakingly build herself to stand strong in the face of the despair that wrecked her inside. It was the one place where she wasn't Kriya Ghai, the girl who had abandoned everyone who had had the immense faith in her to trust her with their dreams, the girl who had brutally shattered the heart of the person she loved the most, perhaps, doing incorrigible damage, albeit it being for his own good. Here she was just one of the many unnamed faces that came here everyday for a billion different reasons.
She had always shared a love hate relationship with the waves, maybe because they told her a story of an unrequited love much like her own. Just like the waves which are brutally parted from the shore the moment they blissfully unite with the shore, she too had been ripped apart from him because of the consequences when she had only just begun to understand what he meant to her. Just like the waves which only touch the shore for a few seconds, she had only got to experience a few joyous days that she could call him his. Just like the shore forgot about the wave the instant the next one struck, she hoped that he would be able to forget about her like some bad memory.
But today she was ready to see things differently. She wasn't sure whether it was the way he held her;a paradoxical combination of gentleness and possessive aggression or the smell of his perfume mingled with an undertone of something she could only describe as him or the weight of his chin resting on her shoulder, but she was ready to see the bigger picture. Shhe was ready to see the ocean.
Just like the ocean and the shore are inseparable, she would hold his hand and stand by his side forever, no matter where the path led. Just like no power in the world could part the ocean and the shore, she was prepared to even fight destiny to her very last fibre if it meant being with him. Just like the ocean had no beginning and no end, no identity without the shore, her life meant nothing without him, almost as if she was existing only as a carcass without him to hold her hand. Her love wasn't momentary like the waves, but strong and infinite like the ocean that would conquer any hurdle that kept them apart. He was her everything, and the thought didn't even scare her like it would have once.
"What are you thinking?" he asked his eyes lit with curiosity and my favourite carefree grin adorning his lips.
"About us. About how I'd almost lost you forever. " I answered truthfully, my voice becoming a whisper near the end. The change was almost instantaneous as his grip on my waiist tightened, his shoulders tensing and a serious look now covering his Greek God features.
" I won't let that happen. Not again. Never" he whispered as I felt an almost inexplicable high that the thought perturbed him just as much as me.
"I know."I smiled watching as the grin slowly eased it's way back on his face "I believe in you"
" That's all I ever need" he replied placing his lips on mone so gently, that they barely brushed mine as yet another wave washed up to the shore.
He was mine and I was his. Forever.
