The main thing is taani doesnt know about the dance event while she talks with VP. She knows about rey and hence she lied...if she know about the team there may be a possibility that she may lie for them also ( willingly or not is secondary)

coming back to the question the team expected taani to lie is not fully wrong as they even helped her in rey's issue

see , i would only say..that she is the one who keeps preaching profesionalism..fine..alright..in that case..she should not have lied for rey as well.she should not have lied for ANYONE..she herself asks others to seperate proff n personal lives...she wants them to give priority to their professional life(NDC) so she should herself follow that..thats all. she is clearly giving priority to her personal life n asking others to do the opp...if she could lie for rey,,she could have lied for swaron atleast swayam who is her bro 😕 n that is the only reason the gang expected
