See, with SwaRon, a trial relationship is a good idea...mainly because it's been a while now since they have known each other, and many "important" things have happened between them [which will be too long a list to mention]...besides, both of them realize their emotional connect, and no matter how hard they tried, they have not been able to waive them off. So a trial thing is the next logical step, and a good one.
It might work, now that we see a more understanding Sharon.
As far as Taani and Rey go [yeah, I'll be unbiased, I promise K]... Rey has just been through a tough rejection...very uncalled for at that. Enter Taani, who is as smitten over him as he was for Kriya. But right now, he feels too numb, disillusioned and sordid to enter another relationship, or even date generally [naturally so], and wants to keep off.
If I were him, I would honestly not get into another relationship right away, rebound affairs generally do not work at all [exceptions could be there though]. However, I would have given this new girl a chance. As in, been friends...hung out...talked.
It helps.
The issue is, Taani's characterization has been contorted beyond repair, that's what. I had always been quite open about a new girl, fresh chemistry and all...but "Taani" has been kinda lame. Blame the CV's for it, not Vrinda.
But yeah, being fair, Rey could try Taani as a friend...an acquaintance or something. If her character sketch goes through a modification, it could help.
