Maa da Laadla: Entertainment, minus Sensitivity?

So i would like to begin my topic by appreciating the dance 1st only from the perspective of choreography, synchronisation and the way the boys danced looked quite entertaining to me.

However, ever since the promo had aired and my attention did shift to the message written on their tees which read out - "It's legal now"...i was pretty eager to see how thru the dance they give out the message on the topic of homosexuality and same-sex relationships which is still considered pretty sensitive to deliberate on in our society. Wat i was mainly looking forward to and was expecting from the cv's who are doing such a huge 'YOUTH' show to give out a tolerant message and not make fun of it or make it derogatory in any way...

However...i am really sorry to say but this time around the cv's really have disappointed me...
The dance if i may point out may be taken in a sporting spirit and for the sake of entertainment also can be given that much liberty, but i failed to understand NEHA'S DIALOGUES after the dance...

1- She gave a disgusted reaction..."cheee"... BTW
there is NOTHING chee about homosexuality, in my opinion.

2- Neha also said "babu tum normal ho jayoge...chinta mat karo!!!!!!!".-
Again, there is NOTHING not 'normal' about homosexuality.

D3 caters to a huge youth base, the show's expected to give out a tolerant message and not show sumthng wch takes digs at homosexuality and made to believe that homosexuality is abnormalcy. We live in the 21st century...we the youth of our nation should not be made to see such 'stone-age' mentality ridden and ignorant coloured dialogues being mouthed by characters in a tv show...that too of a youth show.

P.S- "Television/Cinema samaj ka darpan hota hai...sahi se dikhaya jaye toh sari-gali ruriya aur chinta-dhara ko badalney ki shamta bhi rakhta hai..."

So first of all, I LOVE you for making this post, Joyee, coz it's BANG ON.

Yes, this is what I was uncomfortable with too, tonight. It was awesomely choreographed and performed, undeniably, but I didn't understand why they needed to put Neha's comment in there after it was over. It's not funny anymore. I'd have been happier had they done something to provide a counter-point to Neha's reaction, which is, after all, how a lot of people still do react to this issue. But to leave it like that, un-contested and un-opposed, I'm afraid to say that even I'm disappointed with the message given out. I thought D3 was above something like this.

U GUTSA! i repeat 😉

i was not really happy after this promo got aired! such things usually result out in awkwardness instead of entertainment... if u have got a platform, use it well rather than pointing out insensibly...

neha's over reaction was NOT funny at all!

D3 is getting all random 😕

Such a huge youth show...wen they have the stage and space to be heard among the youth so well...y ruin that space and stick to showing the general ignorant perception of our society????????

very well written post dear.& just love the massage in the end👏👏
how can cv show such a insensitive approach towards gay, lesbianism or homosexuality.
its nothing wrong or crime being homosexual. its their own choice , their own sexuality which tht person should accept & more over as a society which we should accept the way they are.
& neha says tum thik ho jaoge...pls its not any disease its their sexuality which you all are pointing at its their choice ,way of life & as good & sensible human beings we should accept it. treat them equal as human .
one more point i even didnt lik rest of girls expression on particular song.
cv pls dont show such insensitive things in youth base show.& i really didn get d massage out of it.
no complaints abt dance & choreography...all guys pulled act very well.

bang on joyee... ok it was entertaining... but sumwere these people should know that the industry also influences the youth... there is nothing abnormal about homosexuality... the dance could b counted in as entertainment but not the dialogues given to neha... n kaun kisiki sangeet pe homosexuality ke upar dance karta hai... so rightly said by u joyee entertainment without sense...
