Chapter 8: Stand By Me
After a long day of hectic schedule, Radhika comes back to her room. She enters the room to find out that Charu is not in her room. She looks for her out. "Damn, Charu must be roaming outside again", she mutters.
She goes to the corridor and call her name, "Charu...Charu..." but it was only the echo which responded her call.
R:"The corridors are really dark now a days, I wonder why I don't find another doctor."
She knocks one of the doctor's room. A lady doctor who she had met but never interacted opens the door.
"What is it, Radhika?"
R:"Oh, you know my name. Actually I'm looking for my friend Charu. Did you notice her around?"
Doc:"Who?"
R:"My friend, she was living with me."
Doc: "I'm sorry, but as per my knowledge, you were living alone."
R:"No no, my friend was with me...maybe you didn't notice her."
Doc:"Radhika, I know every single doctors and I also know who are living with them. You must have forgotten that I'm the Doctor Quarter's Secretary. I am sure you were living alone."
R:"What nonsense! I was with my friend and you're sure that nobody was living with me?"
Doc: "Yes, that's what I'm talking about."
R:"Check the visitor register. I have a friend here."
That lady doctor leads her to the Quarter office and opens the register to her.
Doc:"Check, whether any name of Charu is here or not?"
Radhika searches the whole register. She gets shocked to find out that no name of Charulata Sen is in the register!
