Well given the situation things r bit complicated. Yes he can't leave duru in such a state but at the same time he can't let nandini leave the mahal alone. Forget love nd all obviously nandini leaving alone can be dangerous which we saw last time. But at the same time he has to keep his promise. In those days promises were imp for the kings. Personally I feel he knows dur is safe nd is with others but if nandini leaves alone she can be in any danger. 2ndly, I think he won't be staying very far from the mahal. He will just be away from the luxurious life. So this can be a possible logic. As per CK goes to investigate he has to question nandini. Yes last time he said to investigate bcoz last time there was no solid proof but this time there is a solid proof along with moora nd dadi as eye witness. So nothing wrong in questioning. Yes nandini has done many good things but tht doesn't mean her actions won't be questioned. It's very easy to say CK is wrong nd all but in tht situation proofs r against nandini so he is right from his view.
