I had a great time yesterday, and it is continuing today as I respond to all the lovely, touching messages in this beautiful, beautiful thread. I cannot thank Saraswathi Akka enough for having thought of it, and my Lashykanna for having organised it.

She is used to mobilising people on my behalf you know!

In October 2013, three months after I started writing in the Jodha Akbar forum, I was so fed up with the strain of doing daily analyses and responding to all the comments too, that I actually said goodbye and quit. That was on October 11.

Lashy promptly began a thread and got a lot of people to write in and insist that I stay. That thread was called

Shyamala aunty..please don't leave us! We love you!

It was an amazing thread, and I was quite knocked off my feet by the outpouring of pleas and demands that I should not leave them. I had no idea that so many people would care if I was not there, and so much too!

Now who can stand against such an effective emotional blackmailer? I could not, so I caved in on October 12, and I stayed on for another 7 months, till end April 2014, though I stopped doing daily posts as much as I could.

Which was 4 posts that week instead of 5! 😉But Jodha Akbar was delightful those days, as I think back and I look up those old posts, Nos. 80-150.

As soon as I changed my mind, Lashy changed the title of her thread to

Shyamala aunty..yayy...she's not leaving!!!

Even today, when I looked at that thread again, I was more moved than I can say by so much of possessive affection. She and I go back a long way, me and my Lashykanna!
