How is CN even possible?

The promos of the show were certainly eye catchy but it had more or less set the base. A princess gets married to the prince who murdered her father. I was intrigued and though I knew EK will screw the show at some point in time or the other I gave it a go since the start was promising.
I tried to look up in the net for any mention of a Princess Nandini of Magadh but there were none 😕 Strange, considering that the show is based on a prominent historical figure. I do agree most part of it is fictional since we do not have an accurate source to build a full fledged story but shouldn't the characters, especially the main protagonists exist? If Ekta really wanted to make a story on Chandragupt she could have made a story on Chandra Helena or even Durdhara. Though some sources cite that Helena was none other than Durdhara herself aka Deodra and was the mother of Bindusaar. Then again some liberty can be taken to establish that Durdhara and Helena were different individuals. Mura's story is entirely fictional and it's easy to note that its a copy of Baahubali. Little effort was made in terms of coming up with innovative fiction here 👎🏼 Is there realy a dearth for creative writers? I am surprised since IF seems to have better writers 😆 who write wonderful fanfics. Ekta might as well hire them.

Coming to Nandini how on earth is it possible to envision a love story in the far future? Agreed she never knew the real Nand but the Nand she knew was not unreal either. He might have been a monstrous king but he was a doting father too. Even if she were to know the full truth, will it be sufficient to ignite love for her father's killer? She may come to grudgingly respect Chandra when she sees he is a better person than her father or even a better king. But love him? Is it remotely sensible to show that? 😕 How can she love the man who slaughtered her brothers? Does it even make sense? Or has Ekta taken the audience for fools who will accept anything she will show? That might be the case else most of her shows wouldn't have become TRP toppers.

I am trying my best to overlook the blunders made in the name of historical fiction (which should be based on the available facts) but I am not sure if the characterization will make sense going forward if Nandini falls for Chandra.

In real life its not possible a man loves the daughter of man who beheaded his father with kapata and lusted after his mom and made her prisoner chained to a pole and whipped her etc

In real life its not possible a daughter loves a man who killed 8 brothers and one father in front of her(or otherwise too)

Helena was not dhurudhara and vice versa

Dhuradhara was chandra maternal uncles daughter(the mom who brought him up)

Helena was seleucos the greek commander who became king after alexander daughter

But Chandragupta had married a daughter of Nand because chankya told him but no name given in any book

I doubt chandra ever loved her etc only compromise marriage because chankya told

@Bold - So true but for argument's sake u can say Chandra never saw Nand do that. He has got his revenge though and he knows Nandini is not at fault. In Nandini's case she saw Chandra murder her father. And the impact will certainly not be the same but yes its not possible for Chandra to love her either.

As for Helena there is not much info but some sources cite she could have been Durdhara. She is Greek for certain and she is the daughter of Seleucos.

Did Chandragupt marry Nand's daughter? 😲 Please do share the source if u know of it coz I tried looking it up but couldn't find any Even if he had married like u rightly pointed it would have been a marriage of convenience, nothing more.

^^This. Agreed with every word you said.

For Nandini CGM killed her father (who was the nicest man, from her pov) and brothers. Right now I see no scope of N ever falling for CGM. Even if later on she finds out that Nand was not a good person, it still cuts no ice. And what about her brothers who were good but just on the "wrong" side?

When I saw the promos I was pretty excited. I ship CN too :D The have good chemistry imo, but having said that, the way the scenes are being played out, the love story becomes less and less appealing. It's not like one finds out that deceased father was bad and suddenly changes sides - it't not that black and white.

Also today's scene with Nand and Nandini, where he lifts her up, tries to get her to safety, apologises to her with his last breath were moving. That was pure paternal love. I actually felt bad for the father-daughter duo.

Yes, her brothers were innocent. I loved the promos too and felt Rajat and Shwetha made a good pair but right now I like Helena better 😆 She is every inch an empress and Tanu's chemistry with Rajat seems to be better. Like u said CN love story is not appealing as logically its not possible for a girl to love her father's murderer.

Yes that scene was moving indeed and Nand despite all his crimes was a wonderful father to Nandini. It was also touching when he begged Chandra to kill him but not in front of Nandini.

Lovely points you've made. I have written similar things in other posts. Let me establish though, that I am a ShweRaj/ChanDini shipper, but at the same time I genuinely don't get this matrimony/future love angle (at this point at least). It is practically IMPOSSIBLE to fall in love with a person who has been responsible for the death of your family. Both for Chandragupta and Nandini, it's very very hard to imagine them developing soft feelings for each other logically speaking...even if in distant future so to speak. Magar ye Ekta Kapoor ka serial hai bhai, what logic are we trying to decipher here? We have been given good looking, well performing leads, equally competent character artists, an entertaining dramatic storyline, fantabulous sets and costumes (gotta admit, she's got some superb job done with art and set design), epic soundtracks . Bas aur kya chaiye? Popcorn khao mast ho jao 😆

Yes u cant imagine falling in love with a person who murdered ur family but Ekta mata ki jai ho 🤣 Anything and everything is possible.

@Red - that's the only reason I am watching the show 😆 I will watch it till the time I can endure this illogical track.

I agree with you. I don't know how they'll make Nandini fall in love with Chandra. The character of Nandini would serve better as a (supporting)grey character. Someone who hated CGM but eventually started to respect him after she learns about his true personality. Nand was a very bad king/person but we can't ignore that he had been a really good father to Nandini. He really cared for Nandini and loved her more than his own life. Even if Nandini learns the truth about her father...I don't think she would ever be able to hate him. She would feel bad for CGM and his mother...but I don't think she would be able to hate her father.
P.S. I think Nand was not the biological father of Nandini. It's just a guess.

Edited-

Great Post!!! 👏 👏
All of you have said it all and wonderfully! 👏What more can I say??

I will add only one thing that Ekta's shows are illogical. The female lead protagonists are in every show placed as strong and charismatic ladies but when time comes they suddenly turn into little mute creatures who have no strength or migh left to fight for their or other's sake, like for instance, yesterday she were shown as a weak warrior who couldn't stand one blow of Chandra and was left helpless. Whereas at the beginning she had been shown as a real hero!! Strange. What happens to that hero? What happens to that strong warrior? I hoped to see some real fight between her and Chandra but what happened? Nandini looked like a weak meek lady, left to cry overy her father's dead body!! Unbelievable.

And Chandra? He looks more like a man blind in revenge, not a king who fights for his motherland!

It's unfortunate that they spoiled both the characters.

But I must mention that amidst all caos Helena looked like a real thing. 👏

Mahapadmanand was portrayed real good, only in his case HISTORY is being manipulated. He lived peacefully till age 88. He never died in war! So showing him dead so early was a total blunder.

And Mandy dear I agree with your post totally on everything. 👍🏼

P.S. I also agree to all the other posts.

Except one thing, I didn't knew that Chandragupt married Nand's daughter! Infact I never knew he had any daughter! 😲

P.P.S. except gorgeous sets, great outfit, lovely nice actors and lead, the show doesn't have anything. It's an old wine in a new bottle, that's all...!😆
Best Watch it and forget it. 😛
