Nandini is not fictional but the name surely is just like helen. Remember helen is not the real name of the princess who married cgm. Helen never met durdhara but she must have met Nandini though she was never chief queen. Maybe because rakshasa tried to kill him through a vishkanya and he thought Nandini was involved in it. Ah just my analysis, I read it on wiki mudrarakshasa. Who knows? Durdhara was his cousin. His maternal uncle helped his mother when she was in distress so definitely durdhara was special to him. She was of his family and affectionate towards him. This affectiona only killed her as she shared his food out of affection. Cornelia is just a victim of trp who demand that one villain should be there.

Ekta chose a very minor fact that cgm married Nanda daughter as she fell for him when Nanda was escaping. In mudrarakshasa Nanda daughter is instrumental in palace conspiracies. Many people don't know this as history books are more than just wives of famous kings.😆

I think mudrarakshas is a play(like Shakespeare)
So its just author imagination

Real history books not avilable to say how nanda's daughter was in reality

But we can guess Chandra killed her daddy, uncles and brothers

So she cannot love chandra with all her soul and heart, there will be anger and hatred buried deep inside

I say deep inside because she dare not show her hatred of chandra and chankya openly else chankya will put her in place (if not chandragupta)

And yes chankya had that power, chandra considered him not only guru but more like a father or demi god kind - so anything chankya says was gospel for chandragupta

So outside nandini must have been all goody goody and inside seething with anger and rage - its like sleeping with enemy case

and to be true that is how it would be. I cannot think of nandini knowing all of dhanannad deeds and suddenly changing to sati savitri types. For any human it matters how a person treats you and for nanda's daughter her family must be the best and most loving and good no matter what reality is. I doubt she ever forgave chandra and chankya for destroying her family, only that she had no option but to marry chandra and act loyal(not be loyal)

. Yes mudrarakshasa is written much later in fact decades later so it's authenticity is obviously doubtful.

I also want to say same thing buddy . it is a drama so u can't believe on it for right fact.
But it is true dear that nandani is fiction character which is inspired by durdhara.
Many documents say many stories about durdhara and Chandra Gupta Maurya.
But main thing is that it is always about durdhara.
Who was beloved and Chief queen of Chandra Gupta Maurya.

True but dhuradhara was a commoner like chandra and a maternal uncles daughter

yes chandra must have loved her because she is not only wife but a family a cousin the only link he has to ow family

I have no doubt he loved her very much for after her death for few years he did not marry (even for political reasons)

There is two most popular theories about durdhara.

First says that she was daughter of nanda . it was written in documents of nanda dynasty.

Second says that she was cousin of Chandra Gupta Maurya.
But which document says about this story is not correct according to time , date and events.
Because which time it says about time when ashoka send his buddh Monks is not historical correct.
Even it has many faults so we can't trust on its facts.

I don't know which is correct or which is not.
But I believe on one theory that Chandra Gupta Maurya had two wives.
And durdhara was his true love.
