You see, my pet, you must have read it on your phone and so you could not mark it with a Like. So I had no idea you had seen it already! Anyhow, I hope I made you laugh at the end of an exhausting day. That would be paisa vasool for me!

Aunty. I read your post 5 minutes after it was posted. I think I was one of the first people to read it. 😉

Haan, beta, aur aap aayeen bahaar aaye ! Welcome to my threads once more, Gargi ! 🤗
I am glad you enjoyed this one.

I am of exactly the same mind as you about Chandragupta being royal by birth, and I had mentioned it in the post itself. The same with the dynasty not being named for his mother Mura. Anyhow, what can't be cured and all that jazz.

I too am waiting for Rajat, but that should take at least another 7-10 episodes. There are 18 years at least to be covered, even with the ubiquitous leap, Alexander's arrival and departure, and Chanakya to be trotted out. Then his falling out with Padmanand or his son Dhananand, the Chanakyasabadam, the famous oath, and then the shift with the young Chandragupta to Takshashila, where Alexander's satraps would be struggling for a foothold with the help of the treacherous Raja Ambhi of Takshashila.

What I want to know is how Chandragupta learns who his parents are. Let us see. I am not doing anything for Episode 2, as there is nothing in it that needs comments or analysis, but I shall open a new thread for the next 2/3 episodes, depending on their content.

It will also be a break for me, Gargi, I have overdone things badly from last night and a lot today, and my fingers are stiff and painful. A day of complete rest will do them some good. Thank you, CVs, for this chutti!😆

Take care, my dear, and see you again soon. I will PM you.

Though I must admit very much late. 😆
I read your post and very much loved it , as usual. I kinda like your laid back attitude this time. Really , why bother boiling our blood over historical inaccuracy when we can have so much fun with out ?? 😛 This is exactly my mind set because nowadays I'm in too much stress as it is , to worry and crib about historical facts . I'll leave that to better hands. 😉
But I really hated them making Chandra a royal born prince , which is not just far far away from truth , but it also takes away the connectivity factor that is in built within us for under dogs , for dark horses.
It also takes away from Chandra the glory of the founder of Mauriyan empire and royal clan which is the very basis of his story- the journey of a common man to one of the most remembered and revered emperor till date.
WAiting for RT's entry now. The 1st epi was lack luster without his presence. Hoping to see a kickass entry.
Hoping nothing from Shweta. I'm a worshipper of beauty and she has none. 😒
P.S- I read your post from my mobile as soon as it was posted. 😉

No, Shreya, but if you recommend it, I will try it out. I liked Jennifer a lot in Saraswatichandra. Which channel is it on?

Yes, Adwitiya, I myself have been pleasantly surprised by the extent of the response to my post and to this thread. I was quite sceptical about being able to revive the fun of our Jodha Akbar days even in part, but this is not bad at all.

This is the kind of thing I was used to in 2013-2014, and which I missed after I stopped those posts: the easy camaraderie and the fun and the light hearted discussions. And 60 Likes are not to be sneezed at !

This thread will be technically over when I start the next one for Episodes 2-4, as there is nothing to be commented on today and maybe tomorrow as well. Of course anyone can continue to post here and I will respond to them. I usually do one thread per episode. But don't worry, we will try and keep the carnival going!😉

Doing nothing tonight will also be a much needed break for me, my dear. I have overdone things badly from last night and a lot today, and my fingers are stiff and painful. A day of complete rest will do them some good. Thank you, CVs, for this chutti!😆

I will of course PM you tomorrow night, assuming that there is something for me to say about episode 3.

Aunty dearest!

That's quite a feat to achieve for a day! I haven't visited all of the other threads, this one, you must have made today morning or yesterday night and it's already buzzing with members - Old and new.

It's so full with lively discussion and debate of various types. It was an entertaining experience going through the various posts, and your replies to them, in a style so typical of you, that I am sure to recognise it even without your user name and dp 😆

Hope this thread keeps flourishing like a mini online carnival!
Take care. 😊

When I watched that Nand King as an ancient Lux Underwear guy, I was horrified . Glad he has now become Nand King - He has moved onto full pants in Hamam. Hamam by the way looks like a modern swimming pool.

😕

Rajat and Shweta will be saving grace of the serial - Too early to comment but still the depth and investments of JA in first 100 episodes seem like a luxury.

Sets are very tacky here I feel.

Loved your analysis...I was a bit disappointed with 1st episode...I watched 1990's Chanakya and I became a big fan of Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi overnight...the serial was made after lot of research on history...I was curious when I saw the promos of chandranandini on how the director would treat the story...but i was a little bit disappointed...your analysis is a breather...
