Some thoughts on Chand Jalne Laga

1. No needless gloss: KZK 2.0 was ruined as Ekta Kapoor made it too high budget and the actors couldn't carry it. Chand Jalne Laga, on the other hand, keeps things grounded despite Deva now being a wealthy man. No male lead descending down the chopper with camera focusing on his biceps, no horde of clingy bimbo girls swooning over hero just to establish that heroine is not like other girls.

2. Deva: I am still not sure if Deva is going by his original name or he has changed his first name because from episode 2 till 4, all I've heard is everyone calling him Mr. Malik. So I am curious what his new name is. Also Vishal Aditya Singh playing Deva is the production house fully capitalizing on his strength. Vishal has got a nice expressive face unlike the debonair, model-like billionaire CEOs we usually see on TV and it was a nice touch that Deva's accent still has that rustic touch (though I suspect that's more of a Vishal thing tbh as even offscreen, his accent and tone is like that). Unlike other brooding billionaires, Deva doesn't deny his past, he never once proclaims to himself he's a new man and actually wants Tara to at least recognise him. This is a nice contrast to ITV and Korean dramas when presumed dead hero returns and the heroine keeps on telling him he is her dead lover and he repeatedly tries to convince her he is someone else.

3. The Suraj-Chand couple: The dainty features of Kanika, her delicate facecut provides such a visually pleasing contrast to Vishal's 6'3" tall bearded self. Unlike most hate to love couples, where hero hates heroine due to ego clash or some lame reason, the hate ML has for FL is actually justified (the marks Deva got in prison on the back as a child) and the male lead deservedly has every reason to hate the Sehgal family including Tara. (I know Tara was a kid and she had some majboori but she literally threw him to the wolves by lying)

4. The show seems as if the novels Wuthering Heights and Atonement have love child: There's also a regency era lovestory titled Gentleman Jim by Mimi Matthews that has very similar story.

5. OST placement: Gosh! The show reminds me of old ITV era when creators actually knew to use music to elevate the scenes and story and we used to actually wait for the scene when the OST would be played.

I had been an avid viewer of Swastik production series. This is typically a swastik trend where they keep things realistic. The heros dont enter as if they are honchos of supernatural era. If u scroll the youtube you may find Vishal 's entry as Lakhan Thakur in Begusarai. It was the most realistic entry. You infact will get Begusarai reference in my posts 🥰🥰The other shows of Swastik production also have more or less similar normal entry. So i agree with your point. I even like Tara 's entry in her sisters car.

2. Deva: I am still not sure if Deva is going by his original name or he has changed his first name because from episode 2 till 4, all I've heard is everyone calling him Mr. Malik. His name is Dev Mallick. Dev was an orphan so must have assumed this title where Mallick means Master as he had used this surname to suggest his supreme control over the turn of events Its Dev from Deva I presume.

3. The Suraj-Chand couple: The dainty features of Kanika, her delicate facecut provides such a visually pleasing contrast to Vishal's 6'3" tall bearded self. I agree totally with this with youb.

I would love to read your review 😊 Actually I knew Swastik Productions only from Pauranik shows like Mahabharat, Mahakali-Ant Hi Aarambh Hai, Suryaputra Karn and RadhaKrishna and historical shows like Porus. So I was actually very surprised when I got to know they were the producers behind this show.

I too watched Vishal Aditya Singh first on Begusarai and then as Tewar in Kulfikumar Baajewala. In Begusarai, he managed to steal the spotlight despite being a newcomer but his rustic accent and way of carrying himself was a bit difficult to be welcomed by ITV that time as with the exception of shows like Pratigyaa, only sophisticated, debonair heroes were in demand that time. Though I think Chand Jalne Laga can be a great opportunity for him as his portrayal of Dev can help him to establish that he can play urbane, suave roles without sacrificing his originality.

Vishal is Siddharth "s (The producer)'sfavourite so I was eagerly waiting for him to return with Swastik only. They will value this fireball. And I agree to your point that at that time ML with urban get up was more in craze and if u have watched Begusarai,You will know that He was supposed to b the villain initially but he stole the screen and was made the real lead instead of the other one by his acting prowess only.

Swastik mostly make mytho shows.... But I have always find their non mytho shows better. This very rustic look and acting will be a treat to watch. I am so gonna excited for it.

Actually Swastik achieved the heights of success with Mahabharat but sadly, it wasn't able to follow up the success with other religious shows. I realised only today that Swastik also made shows like Navya, Manmarziyaan and Amber Dhara. You know, I'm excited about an ITV show after a decade because post 2013-14, I couldn't find any show that makes me obsess over everything about it. But this show's OST, the chemistry, the angst, Vishal's intense eyes, and of course his height (I never realised he was this tall) are simply purrrfect.

In Begusarai every male character was tall. It makes his height normal actually but here he is the tallest in the entire cast 🤭🤭Toh fark dikhega hi...

Swastik have launched a bunch of good looking and good acting males actually. Aham, Shaheer, Vishal, Ankit Mohan, Harshad are the examples. Even Rohit purohit and SRJ was their discovery.

My name is Pragya. What's your name please? Yeah, actually you're right, in Begusarai, the actor playing Priom, Shweta Tiwari, Sudesh Berry all were quite tall and had an imposing personality so utna notice nahi hua.

Could not agree more. @BOLD seriously. Now a days all serials just copy movies songs. But thos were the era where serial songs> movie songs. Recently only few shows have their own OST. In colors it's BP, Tu aashiqui, junooniyath may be. others have no good osts.I have only watched bp but i know other shows have good OST. smiley36
