I have a question.Ashoka was a polygamist. We know it.He was a human being and it's natural for human beings to like more than one person. But then I have seen many arguments on who was Ashok's one true love or his favourite wife. Some say its Devi. Some say its Karuvaki and some say its Asandhimitra. My question is that was it necessary for him to love one person all his life?? I mean would it be wrong if he transferred his affections to another person??
Parents have more than one children. And they love all the children equally. Then why can't a person love his wives equally??
Please don't throw tomatoes or eggs at me for these questions😆
The magic words are Selfishness and Attachment.
Every human is selfish and Ashok has married all 5 of them because he needed them. His first two marriages were love marriages. He loved Devi and kaurvaki and wanted to spend at least a part of his life with them. His next 2 marriages are more of political alliances. His last marriage was when he was old and he needed someone to take care of him.Iss duniya mein sabha swarthi hain.
Secondly, when we spend even some time with someone, we do get attached to that person. Ashok too must have got really attached to his wives so no one is his one and only love.He was attached to all his wives.
