Left on Thursday to go on a mini-vacation and didn't get time to watch CAS. Came back yesterday and finished all the skipped episodes now and all I can say is:
W*F Devi, W*F Kaurvaki... the plot line is being horribly tainted by the silly romance between AshWaki - and it's so misplaced and stupid that it's unbelievable how something like this is finalized. Do the CVs lack any common sense when they come to AshWaki? I don't care about AshWaki, but for god's sake, make it worthwhile at least and not some random, stupid crap that significantly affects the plot line.
Issues:
1) The only reason OTTL (KVK) knows Ashok is Ashok is because a) his necklace that SWMNBN gave him and b) because he revealed himself as RajKumar Ashok. She didn't reveal that she was Kaurvaki so why does she insist on thinking that Ashok should have recognized her, that Ashok was insulting, that Ashok humiliated her!! Hell, it was announced that the Rajkumari of Kalinga didn't show up, so what makes OTTL think that Ashok should have guessed that the Kalinga Kumari was actually OTTL and in his face?
2) Chanda knows who KVK is, she is going to help KVK because she (and her family) wants to get married to Sushim. What kind of family would like to give their daughter / what kind of person would want to fall in love with the person who people believe has become the "devil" ...
3) Devi .. keep her away from KVK. Every time she shows up in relation to OTTL, her character goes from good to painful. I was happy we got a glimpse of the old Devi when she was with Vit, and then the magic KVK bell rings and it's back to AshWaki FTW. Oh yeah their love story will bloom once again ... yeah how about they walk up to each other and introduce themselves first? "Hey I'm Ashok". "Hey Ashok, I'm Kaurvaki." "Kauravaki! Is that really you?" "Yes, is that really you Ashok?" "Yes" Hooray, now we can skip all this pointless romance drama!!
4) Dharma -- she felt that OTTL (in disguise) was a good person with all these good qualities that she is looking for in Ashok's wife? She doesn't even know the girl properly; she's hardly had a chance to talk with her, let alone getting to know her.
5) Kaurvaki jealous of Anandini ... why, why, why would two lovers decide to climb a farkin' mountain to make love to each other in a cave in the dead of night, surely PP has more isolated places like that secret trap door where RG - Ashok met!!! Besides, having seen Anandini's behavior outside of PP, does KVK really think that Anandini would climb a mountain by herself?
6) Ashok noticing KVK on the mountain. That scene was okay, except it was ruined by Ashok leaving and then coming back a second later to pop some food into KVK's mouth. Completely unnecessary and killed the entire build up.
7) While I like Helena's return as Kondana (and Helena-esque planning, plotting, etc), it's just a bit too old now. Helena was the evil mastermind 10 years ago, and she still is the evil mastermind in present CAS time, just under a different character. I actually liked the predication of AgniBahu or Rakshas as Kondana a few gave here because it would have given a twist that would have an interesting backstory, but with Helena ... it's something old, turned new, but nonetheless still old news.
8) Wouldn't a great tantric figure out that someone that wasn't Sushim had infiltrated his mountain? Just saying ...
9) the Radha - KVK comparison ... sigh ... I guess if CAS KVK = Radha, then we're all banana headed dinosaurs who meow. (random stupidity is retorted with even more random stupidity)
There were good parts in the episodes, but AshWaki romance scenes really are just overloaded without much thought. Careful planning, careful storytelling can make even AshWaki interesting. But it's the same stuff -- neither reveals their identity, keeps the knowledge of knowing the other's identity to themselves, and then KVK expects so much from Ashok, and Ashok thinks it's cute and funny to not tell KVK anything. 😕
CVs here is an idea that I'm giving to you for free. How about Ashok walks up to KVK and says, "KVK, I know who you are and I want to get married to you as well. But right now I have a mission to fulfill Chanakya's dream to unite India and I don't want to get you hurt. I know what you're going to say -- that you'll be fine as long as you're with me or that you can protect yourself -- and that's fine and all, but it would affect my consciousness and my focus knowing that you could potentially be made a target and I might lose you. We'll definitely get married since I don't plan on dying any time soon, but in the meantime, we have to act like we don't know each other / don't want to be with each other. Can you live with that for a few years?"
"Sure Ashok, anything for you and our future together. I'll stop coming in your path. If you need anything, let me know, I'll always be by your side when you need me. Now get back to your mission and don't worry about me."
