Both of them are not portraying Ashoka in 2 different movies or shows.
There is something called continuity in movies and shows which makes it obligatory for the second performer to make the viewers believe that they are the grown up version of the first. Looks- the actor cannot do much. But one has to incorporate the younger version's mannerisms attitude and tendencies. Like the new Sushim.

MR may be a competent and even an excellent actor but he has failed to make us believe that he is grown up Sid Ashoka. His Ashoka is entirely different. An angry young man who is reserved and bitter. He lacks the fury, 'udhvignatha', emotional outbursts, underlying yearning, restlessness, unthinking and spontaneous madness and decisiveness and stubbornness all of which was what charecterised Sid's Ashoka.

MR Ashoka is nowhere a bundle of emotions that Sid Ashok was nor is he a ruthless chand that the character might have metamorphised into. Even then you expect restlessness emotional edge and fury. But this Ashok is directionless and looks blank most of the time. MR has not even attempted to go beyond the script.

MR Ashok is entirely of a different colour, not just hue or shade. The difference is all the more glaring when juxtaposed against Sushim who seems to be the perfect grown up version of Sumedh Sushim albeit more evil.

And for those who think that Mohit looks too old to play Ashok,I will beg to disagree. He is in his early thirties and not some 70-80 year old man.More ever ,Ashok is supposed to look more matured post leap.Because the situations and occurances in his life left an ever lasting impact on him.He needs to look like a seasoned warrior,a ruthless emperor,a master politician and a benevolent ruler too.I think that Mohit fits the bill perfectly.Because he has the physique and built for a fierce warrior and the regal and majestic aura of an Emperor as well.

It has been 10-12 yrs leap and Sid was around 15 then. Ashoka has to be around 25. MR looks like in his late thirties.

As far as Sushim is concerned, then Sushim's character has undergone no major changes apart from his newly acquired superpowers.Unlike Ashok,Sushim's character is unidimensional. Therefore that character bears similaritities to the pre leap character. The only difference is the actor playing that character.Sumedh was marvellous as Sushim and Ankit is equally good.

Ankit has picked up Sumedh's mannerisms a lot. His slanting glances, his evil smile, his walk and hand movements. MR hasn't even given a try to imitate Sid.

The rest is with the CVs.It's purely their fault that they are not exploring the different facets of Ashok's character.Instead of showing him Ashok as a Romeo they should depict the various shades of his personality.Otherwise Mohit is a powerful actor and his perfomance is terrific.

I have heard numerous praises of MR as Mahadev. I am not questioning his ability as an actor. But he definitely doesn't look like a 12 year older version of Sid Ashok. Period.

I love Mohit's acting but right now I am not getting the feelings that I am watching Ashok. Sid played very well even the angry Ashok. Mohit looks like a baby who is not getting what he wants. There is a clear difference between the two Ashok. Little Ashok had that junoon to defeat everyone. I don't see that junoon in grown up Ashok. Shouldn't this Ashok have more junoon than the younger one ? In fact Sushim looks more in junoon than Ashok. 😆 Now I agree the writing is pathetic but can't Mohit try to portray it differently. It's very hard for the viewers to see same character sounding so different. Excuse us if we don't find Ashok in Mohit.

this one' s a pretty balanced assessment.. and true to some extent.. as far a my experiences with Mohit's acting goes.. he does take time to settle into the character.. ( i pray he does quickly or otherwise people here will complain of colossal eyesores 😃😃 )

jokes apart... i know what it is to be a show fan.. and how much expectations you guys must have had.. lets see how things take shape, for no one of us will try to force you all to like Mohit and you are free to dislike him

Good fortune comes in threes.

1. Ashok meets Bindusar after 10 years and has not forgiven him yet.Good for you Ashok for not bending your knee before that clueless, heartless king.

2. Ashok's first fight on the arena! I find myself liking RG's agent more and more. He'd have made a decent Krishna what with the enigmatic smile and all.More impressive than RG any way. These days they are building up Radhagupt to be another Chanakya what with the staff and the same BGM.But as good as he is he's no match for Manoj's version of Chanakya.

3.Last and the best. No Kaurwaki.Yay. I'm glad they have decided to focus on the main agenda rather than paying unnecessary attention for the romantic track.Show the girls once every 3 days or so.But keep the main event should always be Sushok.

Frankly,I do not want Ashok to forgive Bhondusar. He had to suffer much humiliation because of Buddhusar's idiocy.
Ashok was terrific in that fight!!! Kudos to him!!👏👏
Radhagupta's agent provides an element of mystery. It seems as if he knows about what will happen and what is to come. You are right,I am not getting the same feeling from RG.
Well,to be honest,I really preferred Acharya Devrath as Ashok's mentor.Ashok and AD has some sort of a connection which is lacking in RG.

And about KVK,looks like Jaggu is doing his job very well.I never thought I will say this but I am very happy with Jaggu😆

I personally don't dislike him. In fact when the news came of taking leap I was against it. Only when I heard Mohit will play the grown up Ashok I was like at least acting wise things will be fine. But now I am a little disappointed. I want the Ashok we are used to see. Hopefully Mohit catches it soon.

An enthralling episode after so many days!!!!!!

More than the script, I guess it was the anticipation of SuShok confrontation that made me glue my eyes to the telly. Am I the only one who is getting butterflies over their future confrontation? And if somehow Khallatak or someone with due credit to CV's stops it...I am seriously going to buy a truckload of rotten tomatoes to throw on them.

KVK is MIA. Thank Goodness...may her kidnappers succeed. I am definitely not going to file any FIR on her missing status.

Btw, post leap, seer population is increasing huh? First Subhrashri, now this agent Acharya of RG who appears more interesting than RG himself.

So Bimbosar feel something about the name of the competitor huh? His sudden feeling that urged him to go to watch the competition somehow increased the anticipation of the climax.

God...I just wish Monday comes soon. And I am a tad worried about Devi. Poor girl.

Again the sloppy walk today. I couldn't believe that the loose limbed guy loitering in the corridor was Ashok. MR is off and on very good but he simply does not have the gait and elegance of Ashok. The fight scene was good but I couldn't help but think Sid would have risen like a lightening to fell his opponent.

They must change MR's costume which adds to the bulk and lack of fluidity. He needs longer hair. Plus he needs good amount of sleep; looks too fatigued.

Why is Bindu looking as if he has dyed his moustache? Surely he should have greyed by now. With the jet black moustache he and Ashok look about the same age.

The mystery sage is fabulous.
