Hi All,

I was planning to join the forum long back but couldn't since I was kind of inactive on IF.

But not sure as to how long I'm gonna stay here. The show started off well (leave apart history). But now I feel the story line is being stretched like a rubber band and it's getting all messy and headed to nowhere.

Always wanted to watch an "Indian" show varna there's no dearth of TV shows like Prison Break, GOT and many more. But it somehow feels good to watch Indian shows and remain rooted to your own culture.

But sadly all shows are either nonsense saas-bahu sagas, stupid love triangle operas and dumb eyelocks. And if nothing works out, shows divert to filmy stuff like judwa sisters, 20 years leaps, ghosts and witches etc.

Really what should one watch? Only mytho and Historical shows look fine to me. But even they are being distorted beyond limits and filled with the same saas-bahu drama.

Anyways, enough of ranting. Hi all.

My opinions are very stern at times. So "SORRY" in advance if anyone gets hurt. Please feel free to point out to me if anyone does feel offended.

I too am frustrated beyond believe all due credit to the plot story.
In history Bindusar knew about Ashok and Ashok fought his way to the throne amidst the conspiracies and courtly politics. Wish they had shown it like that without estranged wife and unknown son track. This track too had a lit of potential with additional masala drama but now it makes me want to tear up my hair.

Yes. The main problem of this show is it has an absolute slow execution. What can be shown in 5 minutes take an episode here. Sigh.

Still historical and mythological shows are better than other daily soaps which are nothing but sheer nonsense.

Yes this track is stretching endlessly. No wonder trp's have fallen. Hope they fall more and some sense is knocked into these CV's.

But no point in being frustrated. Let's save our frustration for a better purpose. After all it's just a silly TV show and makes no difference to our lives.

Yeah the show stretches like a spring with unwanted dialogues but by characters like noor and the other queens.

Hi Rishi, welcome to Ashoka forum. 😃

Believe me when I say Ashoka is one of the best historicals - this should make you aware how others are! NR is CVS favorite and fans dreaded word. Just like 007 has license to kill, NR gives cvs license to butcher characters and story.

Hi Rishi!!! We met in NBT forum if u remember!! Happy to see u here!!...I agree man this show is extremely slow and that same precap stuff in each episode irritates...Still any day better than those crap saas bahu shows!!..

Ofcourse I know you Aakash. You're so popular in the entire Colors circuit. But I still miss NBT. This was one sane straightforward love story with no love triangle business. That's why I liked it.

Varna these days marriage-divorce-second-marriage again divorce. This cycle continues endlessly. Wish NBT had a season 3 as well! This show was indeed unique.

Ahaa yeah somehow I end up with Colors every time...!!

Yeah man I miss NBT...KKK is back but that show is pathetic..!! NBT 1 wala magic is still missing.. NBT 2 was average.

Really? Ashoka is among the best? Wow that means I can't imagine how others can be.😆 I had followed few episodes of Maharana Pratap during Faisal times. It was good but post leap its a big yawn. Other shows i don't know so can't comment.

What makes this show good is its star cast (sid, sameer, manoj joshi, suzanne and that actress who plays rani subrashi) this is a lovely cast!

Dharma is disappointing though. I simply hate that Noor and her irritating expressions. Subrashi is good!

Even the ensemble, dialogues and music are really good. But its hatefully slow. And ofcourse history distortions.

I can pardon these CV's for distortions since Ashoka's history is by itself not well known by historians themselves and the facts stated by historians also look like guess work.

But I can't pardon these CV's for snail paced episodes. Even Bullock carts run faster than their episodes.😆
