Hello folks! This is the first episode of March and already a new net has been woven. Quite an interesting episode, it has depicted the slight hints of Ashok's aggressive nature.
Episode starts with Chanakya blackmailing Helena. He makes it clear that the only reason she is not yet thrown in the jail is because he has hidden the truth from Bindusara as the truth would break his heart and also break the trust of the public on the Samrat. But all bets are off if she hurts Ashok. Chanakya also tells her firmly that Ashok will be the next Samrat and there's nothing she can do about it.
Backed into a corner she summons Bal Govind to know more about Ashok. Bal Govind refuses to answer saying that Ashok is his friend but Helena tries to paint Ashok as selfish finally threatens Bal Govind with death.
Ashok stands in front of a lake utterly despondent, and when Dharma comes to him, he reveals how unhappy he is. At the very moment four goons come there and start attacking them.
In the palace an astounded Radhagupt asks Chanakya why he had sent goons after Dharma. Chanakya answers that Ashok will learn today that sometimes the promises made are to be broken for the welfare of themself.
Ashok gets beaten up. Dharma tries to save him and gets hurt. This enrages Ashok and breaking the promise of non-violence to his mother, he beats up the goons. The beaten goons run away. Dharma shocked at the ruthlessness of her son rebukes him for taking up arms but furious Ashok finally at the end of his patience gives her two choices. Either they leave Pataliputra and go back to the forest where he follows the path of non-violence or they remain here and he goes to Rajkiya Vidyalaya where he learns the lesson of violence. Poor kid. I feel for him. Since he has stepped into the capital nothing has been his choice. No wonder he is hot headed now.
Oh apparently Bal Govind eavesdrops and relays to Helena that Bindu's doc is Ashok's mother.
Dharma reaches Bindu's quarters where Dharma and Bindusara get into a debate about violence and non-violence. That one is a cute scene, Ashok in the middle and his parents haggling over him. Finally Ashok and Bindu team up against Dharma and overrides her. Ashok promises that he will always take up arms for the defence of innocent and will never abuse his power.
Helena and Justin plan to pit Chanakya and Ashok against each other by killing off Subhadrangi (Dharma) who's Ashok's weakness and blaming it in Chanakya to create a rift between them.
Next day in the court a man comes with the news of a man-eating tiger's attack. Bindusara decides to hunt it giving the responsibility of running the kingdom for the time being to Amatya Khallatak, taking Mir Khurasan and Justin with him on Helena's suggestion. She plans to kill Subhadrangi.
Precap- The cart driver takes her through a wrong path rather than the one to Rajkiya Vidyalaya where she is attacked. Chanakya finds a ring near the body and recognizes it as Dharma's to his utter shock. A devastated Ashok yells out in pain and anguish. Bindusara promises to take care of her child.
PS- Somehow I doubt Dharma's dead. Vitashoka isn't born yet afterall.
