Chakravartin Ashok Samrat 2nd March 2015 Written Update

Helena is pacing in her chamber saying that Unanis had sent a message that Rakshas has left for Pataliputra but wonders why he hasn't reached. She hears a sound and thinking it could be her messenger she asks if he found anything but it turns out to be Chanakya. Chanakya says he did find and says he found more than necessary information regarding her schemes. Helena asks him what schemes is he talking about to which he replies that she arranged for the attack on the king and put the blame on him and Ashok, so that she could see Justin become king. He asks her whether or not this is her dream and says that Ashok possessing the poisoned plant is proof that she wanted to take advantage of the doubt arising in king's mind for Ashok. Helena asks him if he has proof and Chankya replies that the first proof he has is the fear etched on her face and second he shows the Rakshas's necklace. Helena is scared and Chanakya says she must be aware as to whom it belongs to and when she doesn't reply he says it belongs to Rakshas who is his guest. He warns her that if she harms Ashok then he will ensure that Rakshas will reveal her schemes before the king. Helena says if he has proof then why wait? Chanakya says he would have if he had personal vendetta against her but according to him she is a raj drohi but the subjects treat her as raj mata and if subjects were to know about her reality then they would lose faith in their king and if subjects don't have trust and are insecure the kingdom will become weak. Helena says why doesn't say he wishes to see Ashok on throne instead? She says this is his dream and will remain so as his student refused to attend the royal school and he is thinking he will become the king? Chanakya says she is unaware of the course of destiny and whichever path Ashok chooses the kingdom of Magadh is his destiny and he will become the future king. Helena is fuming and tells her that as long as he is alive he won't let the shadow of Unanis to fall on the kingdom. Helena is angry.

Bal Govind tells Helena that Ashok is his friend and he cannot betray him and he cannot say anything related to him to her. He adds he does not know anything but even if he were to know he wouldn't tell her and asks her to forgive him. She tells him in disdain that she knew he was a fool but didn't know to this extent. She brainwashes him saying he is considering a selfish boy to be his friend who speaks of equality but when he got one opportunity he chose to stay in the royal palace and attend the royal school. If equality meant so much to him then why did he not say that he wants to take him also along with him and he could secure a place for himself before the king but what did he get out of all this? She asks him to find out why did Ashok refuse to attend the royal school and if he finds this out he will be freed else he will be killed.

Ashok is standing beside the lake and and Dharma gives him a bag containing food. Ashok says what kind of dilemma is this when he did what she wanted and he is supposed to be happy with her decision but he is not and why is it so? Just then few men surround them and Dharma stands before them. On the other side Chanakya's disciple is shocked to know he has sent attackers for Dharma but why did he do so? Chanakya replies so that Ashok realises that at times you need to go against your own to protect them and when Helena told him that Ashok is refusing to attend the royal school he understood that it was Dharma who was behind it. Here Ashok fights them and Chanakya says that Ashok will forget everything and take the weapon. Ashok fights them and Chanakya says the one who refrained from cruelty will now confront it. The attackers beat Ashok and Dharma tries to protect him but she is thrown aside. This angers Ashok and he starts fighting them back fiercely. Dharma is shocked to see this side of Ashok and recalls the promise that she had taken from him. Ashok snatches the rod and raises it at the men who run away. He flings it aside and screams. Chanakya says that this momentary victory will induce fear in him and this fear will make him go against his mother. Chanakya says he does not wish to do this but Dharma has left no other go for him. Dharma is worried for Ashok and sees if he is injured and tells him he broke the promise he gave her. Ashok says he is done with it and he will no longer abide by it. He tells her that by following the path of peace he could not even protect her and he is not so weak that he cannot protect her when need arises but today he was scared. Dharma assures him that he did protect her but Ashok points to the wound on her arm and if he did then what is it? He tells her that before such a situation arises he wants to be prepared for it. Dharma says people sacrifice their life for the sake of peace and rather than see him tread the path of violence she'd rather be dead. Ashok says if that is the case let them go from there where there are so many conspiracies, so many enemies else this place will turn him into a monster. He says if she wants him to follow the path of peace then they should head back to the woods and she should break the promise she made to Chanakya. Dharma says she is desperate and she cannot break the promise and Ashok says so is he. He says if her promise matters to her then her safety matters much more to him. And if they don't leave from here he will attend the royal school and in order to save her he will sacrifice all the values she has given him. Dharma is shocked and Ashok says he will not embrace peace sacrificing her. Bal Govind sees this.

Bal Govind reports to Helena and says that the woman treating the king is Ashok's mother and because of her he refused to attend the royal school. Helena thinks of the time when Ashok had come to meet Dharma in the pretext of taking her advise. Bal Govind asks if he can be free now.

Dharma is thinking that because of her Ashok wants to tread on the path of violence and only the king can persuade him from that. When she goes to meet the king, Ashok will already be there and Bindusar tells her happily that Ashok has accepted to attend the royal school and he will become the finest warrior in Magadh. Dharma says if she has to think from her perspective then she only knows to heal hounds and not give them. Bindusar says he will protect people by raising the weapon and not hurt anyone. Dharma says for protection he will have to attack and wounds will be wounds whether its given to one's own or others. Ashok says by learning to fight why will he hurt an innocent and Bindusar supports him saying no one likes violence but one needs to fight it too. Dharma says violence gives the illusion of being powerful to a human but a powerful being is one who can forgive, and not take life but grant life. Bindusar says that when enemy attacks one needs to fight, if not for oneself but to save the subjects. He says peace does not keep a kingdom alive, does not help them win over enemies. Dharma says that she hoped Ashok would prove that humanity could prosper with peace and Ashok assures them that with his skill and power he will not take disadvantage but he will fulfill all his duties. Bindusar says that from tomorrow he will begin his training. Ashok is torn over his parents.

Justin is shocked to learn the truth and Helena says so was she and Subhadrangini is his stepping stone to the throne who is Ashok's mother and his weakness and Ashok is Chanakya's mother. If anything were to happen to his mother then he would go mad and misunderstanding would be inevitable as he would blame Chanakya for his mother's death as his mother would be safe had Chanakya not brought them. She asks Justin if he understood and one small move and Chanakya's game will be spoilt and Justin replies that their path will be clear and asks how will this be possible. Helena says tomorrow morning the king will get a message. Both Justin and Helena are smiling evilly.

One subject comes to the court and complains about cannibal (tiger) attacks and Bindusar decides to go on a . Helena says it would be wise if Justin and Meer Khurasan would accompany him. Bindusar instructs Amatya to look after the kingdom and tells him to consult Chanakya if needs help. Amatya agrees and goes to arrange the preparations for the hunt. Helena thinks in her mind that when the king will go on the hunt, she will ensure that she will hunt down Dharma and Chanakya's schemes.

Precap - The person driving the cart takes Dharma in the wrong direction and she is attacked. Chanakya sees Dharma's ring and realises that the body is that of Dharma's and he is devastated and is sorry for Ashok. Ashok is grief stricken and so is Bindusar and he vows to take her son's responsibility.
