Are u historian?

How can u say this ?

Big historians are telling about this

The Mr.Ashok writer of this show...have researched from last 20 years

And are they mad that showing 100% fiction in first episode?

Please from which sources have u got this information?

And Khurasan is not fiction

Islam and Khurasan-Noor there is no relation

In Faras these names are famous from ancient time...not related to culture of islam

Later in islam...spread in Arab and Iran... They accepted these olden faras culture

I'll agree there! Most of the fact that they have presented are true, but in a bit voracious manner. Khorsan is true but her potrayal isn't. They are showing her as a Persian Muslim princess which isn't correct, she was a rakshita to Bindusara and not his wife!

Secondly, Shubhadrangi/Dharma was never abandoned she stayed in Patliputra but as a neglected queen or possibly(?) keep. But most agree to the fact that she was the only Bhrahmin queen to Bindusara.

Thirdly Justin. Well him being a son to Chandrgupta is something new to me! I have never heard of him before, so will have to dig deep.

And fourthly and most importantly, Amatya Rakshash is missing! He along with Chanakya was a silent beneficiary of the Empire who were very much consulted by Asoka.

All in all they have opted for a 50-50 route it seems. I am not disappointed but then I am not impressed either!!

Its true that a character like Justin never existed in a context that he was Chandrgupta's son; but there is a certain dispute over existence of Helena. Some are of the belief that Helena or Cornelia was Seleucus's daughter married off to Chandragupta; while other believe that these were two different ladies who were under the Imperial Patronage. Not sure which is true but a certain vague mention is made to Helena/Cornelia every now and then.

Next Shubhadrangi/Dharma; well this was the very reason I shot that PM to you. While some historians believe her to be a rakshita(keep) in the palace, most of them suggest that she was a rani(low queen). Either way she was a neglected and less cared for woman. It was during her pregnancy that prophecy had been made that her son shall rise like no else; bringing her back to everyone's notice. So the fact that she was left abandoned in a forest is way too farfetched.

Another glitch in this entire setting is Noor Khorsan's lineage. She is shown as Persian princess when truth is she wasn't. There is a mention of a courtesan from Persia who was gifted to Bindusara by Seleucus, but she being a Muslim and a wife to Bindusara is simply preposterous! She might have enjoyed her position in the Imperial court for a while but definitely had no hold over the politics of the place like they are suggesting. Not only this that Persian courtesan (who is unnamed) was not brought along with her family.

The first episode was a jumbled up mix, what surprised me more was active involvement of Chanakya! Wasn't he by that time a silent beneficiary of the empire? And where is Amatya Rakshash??

And as far was Kaurwaki is concerned; the recent finding suggests that Padmavati and Kaurwaki and two different women; for Padmavati was killed before Devi's return back to Magadha and Asoka married Kaurwaki after her return. Although this aspect is still is under discussion by some!

Oh and thank you so much Roopsha for putting this all up!

Your biggest mistake

Noor as Muslim ???

My friend...please trust on reaseachers atleast who is working on project from last 20 years

History is not from Indian point of view may be from Persian or Another Greek point of view

Muslim religion started in 7 th AD only

The names are presenting Farsi culture not Muslim

And Chanakya was always for Magadh till last breath

Even After Chandragupt'$ death...he was more conscious for Magadh

@ Meself. ...Noor is not Muslim

Islam was not started at that time in world

It started after 1000 years of current story

Don't go to style of names

Farasi culture is here before entrance of Islam in middle Asia

I checked the episode again! Yes Noor isn't Muslim thankfully, she is given a Persian origin. But then again she was not a princess as potrayed. Secondly Amatya Rakshash is missing!!

@Proud-India

Yes, Chanakya was very much concerned with Magadh but after Chandragupta until the advent of Asoka he was more like a silent beneficiary along with Amatya Rakshash. So that part is missing. And of course the researchers have put in there effort but that doesn't mean they are impermeable to mistakes on their part!!

roopsha ...šŸ¤—informative post but questionable also...😳

well i don't know about Justine properly but there was Helen for sure may she has another name Corneli..Helen who was the daughter of Seleucus the ruler of persia and western india...Seleucus was a greek and earlier a general of Alexander. Helen and Chandragupta remained married only for about 5/6 years as Chandragupta died after five years of marriage...well it may Justin is total fictional abishkar but Helen was in history...but here CV's portraying her negative which has no value at all... she was not at all negative i didn't even find one word about her negativity in Moriya dynasty[how much i read ofcrs]...this negativity is totally fictional twistšŸ˜†šŸ˜†

and about Dharma or Shubhadrangi she may treated as maid by Bindusura's other wifes but she was not comes in palace as concubine of Bindusar...as she was gifted to Bindusar as his wife and she was gifted by her father...Dharma's father was an astrologer.. a bhramin of champa city...who adorned her with all the ornaments he had and offered her in marriage to King Bindusara who accepted her..and she entered palace as his wife...and i was read a book where writer says that she was really beautiful and others wife of Bindusar was really feared as Bindusar was started to spend his most of the time with Dharma after accepting dharma as his wife...and once wished for her son and she wished that his son may rule Morya dynasty in coming days as her father told her that earlier...which make Bindusar angry and he insult her like berber cause he had Susima already..and when she replied him that she is not at all berber she is daughter of bhramin and his lawfully accepted wife..which make Bindusar more angry and after more insult of Dharma she left palace... and given birth of Ashoka who free her from shok/pain[that insult] thats why she keep her name Ashoka...well later after years after comeback to palace dharma gave birth of her another son whom she named Veetashoka since he was born when sorrow had ceased...

and yeh in the show Noor and her father is not muslim i guess..they are showing her as persian princes when Helen was the princes of persian lol...i am not so much aware about noor...so hands downšŸ˜†

Helen existed...as in the Greek wife of Chandragupta and daughter of Seleucus existed...but she was not named Helen...her name was Apama. God I have no idea why they have named her Helena. Why can't they just use her actual name?

Oh no..!! It wasn't a misunderstanding...I messed up with the names...!!! N my bad..!! I did not look through the lines carefully..šŸ¤“ I remember studying about Chandragupta marrying a Macedonian / Greek princess for political reasons...of course we had it in our history syllabus in the school..
But I did not know it was Apama... I thought the name was Helen...šŸ˜† But thanks Roopz..!!

@bold -- simple reason -- They dont know that...šŸ˜†šŸ˜›

P.S.:- are there any books u could recommend ?? n available online ??

Thank you for the info 😊 this PH has a way of taking some historical facts and twisting them for the storyline (like since Phool Bai Rathore is mentioned as Maharana's 5th/6th wife they introduced Phool Kanwar in the show to bring a love triangle in MP's life) . But the overall look of the show seems good.

nice thread
so historical inaccuracies begin !!

if what all you have written here is true it seems producers taking too much creative advantage !!!
what was need to create "justin" if he did not exist !!
about helena, i have read this name as chandragupta maurya's wife at many places !! so not sure !!
and khusran, i think they are not showing islam but pharsis,(present day Iran) i guess they were Zoroastrians !!!
and greeks here not Christians but greeks only with ancient greek culture !!
i wish if any producer can make any historical show doing justice to history not just fictional costume show with historical characters as many has become !!!
