Hi everyone! I've written a couple more scenes following on from the last ones. It was supposed to be one but it got so long and intense i split it into 2. I've tried to add an index onto the first page for ease of reading as well.
These next 2 scenes are for my jaans, Anisha, Moni, Faizuu, Sakeena, Ketty and all those missing Viren's flute playing like me! I'm not a musical person but i love music so i hope i described them right. Please do let me know what u think🤗
Scene 4
Viren didn't know where he was going! He'd left the room and in his rush to get away, had started walking blindly till he reached the bottom of the stairs when he stopped and took in his surroundings as well as a breath to try and clear his head. His thoughts were a mess and he had so many different emotions running through him, he didn't know which to think about first! He looked out at the hall and unwillingly began to remember moments he and Nivi had spent together here...he thought of her sitting with the other women praying for him during karva chauth while he peeked out at her from behind these stairs ' the look of innocent fear on her face at the thought of him getting caught being there had been so cute he'd wanted to pinch her cheeks! He smiled slightly and thought of the day he'd persuaded Nivi to dress up as a bride so they could take wedding pictures right here. She'd looked so beautiful and they'd been so happy in those moments, he felt a sharp pain of loss and sadness at the thought of how much they'd lost and wondered if things could ever be that way again... He shook his head, coming back to the present, there was no point thinking of the past he told himself. He suddenly realised it was almost 2AM but he wasn't the least bit tired and didn't think he could go back to bed in this state; he looked down at the flute case in his hands and an idea began to form in his mind as he turned and walked through the silent house to where he could easily get to the roof terrace and where no one would hear him. He reminded himself to be extra quiet whilst walking past his room in case Nivi was still awake.
Nivi stood in the room feeling torn; she didn't know if she should have followed Viren. He'd looked so angry and in pain when he'd left, she wondered where he could have gone. She felt a bit bad for laughing at the thought of him falling off the sofa but then he'd looked so adorable, how could she not?! She thought of the other night when she'd caught him eating the remaining gaajar ka halva looking like the sweet child he was inside and smiled remembering the image in her head. Her thoughts raced ahead and she grew sad thinking that she still hadn't been able to ease his pain and thought, 'aaj itna dard tha uski aankhon mein, kaash mein us dard ko mita pa thi' She stood there lost in these thoughts when she saw a shadow pass in front of the door. Fear went through her till she saw a flash of red through the frosted glass and realised it was Viren walking past! In a second she made up her mind and quietly followed him, making sure she stayed far back enough he wouldn't notice her.
The roof looked so beautiful in the light of the moon that Viren stopped for a second and wished Nivi was there to share it with him. Feeling sad that she wasn't and annoyed at himself for even thinking it, he left the door slightly open (he didn't think anyone would hear him from up here anyway) and went over to the little table and began putting his flute together. He walked to the edge of the terrace and looking out at the moon he closed his eyes, took a breath and brought the flute to his lips, feeling the sense of release he always got whilst playing music.
Nivi realised where Viren was headed a few minutes after following him and had a fair idea of what he was about to do so let him go on ahead. She smiled to herself and thought even if he would not let her help him, his flute surely would bring him some comfort at least. She reached the doors leading out onto the roof and saw he was standing with his back to her, he looked like a dream, bathed in moonlight and she felt he might disappear if she went forward and touched him... She paused in the shadows behind the door and listened as he began to play... She felt her heart pierced by the first notes, they were so full of pain and longing she felt a sharp stab in her chest and tears filled her eyes and began to fall at the stark beauty in his melodies. The notes screamed out at her and told her all the things he would not say but she'd seen in his beautiful eyes: his pain, his anger, his fear, his longing and even the hope that was buried somewhere deep inside him. She closed her eyes and leaning against the wall, she lost herself in Viren.
