Faisu
I loved the way he utilized coal in his dish. Smart idea to make Chicken Tandoori. I loved the way he shaped the mousse of his chicken tandoori. Plating wise it was pretty but not Faisu’s best plating.
I completely agree with the judges comment about color contrast. His execution was good. I thought he would win this challenge till Gaurav stole the show with his extraordinary dish.
He had the 2nd best dish and well-deserved as he and Gaurav were the only focused ones in this episode.
Nikki
Surely not her best dish. I think her plating was very average as she had less time when she was frying her sago papad. I think the judges are starting to get bored of her Thecha. Her tastes maybe good but she can do better and show more innovation.
Rajiv
I did not like the color selection of Rajiv’s cake. It was too bright, the red was too much. I think this cake will work only for a haldi ceremony. Moreoever when he was icing, I noticed it was already slanted. Rajiv has shown much better aesthetics in his past dishes, but in this dish it was a complete miss. Taste wise it from judges comment it was not the best either. 3-tier cake is not an innovation either.
He got scolded by Chef Ranveer indirectly saying instead of playing wedding wedding he should start playing finals.
Gaurav
I think this was one of the best plating I saw in this season. I loved it a lot, and I totally get why the judges got gaga over it. At times, I thought thoda zyaada tareef toh nahi kiya 😂 But it really looked eye-pleasing. The leopard print was so pretty and he used the dehydration technique better. The idea of using siphon gun infront of judges was good too.
This dish completely reflected the love he has for his wife. The dish he made did full justice to both the challenge and dedication to his wife. The taste did not disappoint either. It was so good that even Chef Vikas who rarely gives a spoon tap, gave it too. He even got the knife from Chef Ranveer that he badly wanted.
Teja
I think she had the same problem as Nikki and Rajiv. Lack of focus which was shown in the dish too. The plating made it obvious the dish was made in a rush. The elements tasted good individually but when she combined them the execution wasn’t as great. However I feel the element she got was a tough one.
