Okay I have a question....in the book, One Thousand Splendid Suns...what color eyes does Mariam have? What about Laila?

i haven't read the book.. but i'll try to answer your question... i'll just do some research :)

EDIT: Okay... Mariam's eyes are brown and Laila's are blue

The movie Slumdog Millionaire is based on a book, I think it's called Q &A- I can't remember the author's name. My question is- has anyone ever read the book and if so is it good?

Hi Shelly,

Yep Slumdog Millionaire is based on Q&A by Vikas Swarup.

I have read the book, and I wouldn't say it's commendable, but it's a good read. Many of the things that the protagonist goes through feel real if you know anything about the Southeast Asia. His struggles to survive, insights of the character, learning process make it even more insteresting read.

However, there were a few things I wasn't so comfortable with, but then again I guess that's the aim of the author - makes you challenge your ideas/self.

If you love books, I suggest you read it - it brings the true struggles both external and internal of the person to light.

It's nothing like the movie. The format is quite the same relating to the Quiz Show but most of the situations, even the names of the characters and their relationships are different.
