Hi Everybdy...

I just finished with Digital Fortress sometime back and was quite impressed with the book foregoing some small flaws... I was wondering what you people think of the book...😊 How would you rate it on a scale of 10... Did you find any flaws in it - anything you would have wished to change, any other aspect that didnt appeal much or just any other comment in general on the book...

Thanks

I wud give the buk 6/10 that too being as lenient as I can.
I felt the book to be immensely gripping at the beginning but sumwhere down the lane, it loses its pace and gets really stupid at the end. I dont want to spoil the suspense of anyone who hasnt read the buk yet but chanced accidentally to read this post, and so I wont mention what was so stupid about it but I only Imply some revelation which were idiotic to the core...Love kahaan se aa gaya bhai!!? 😆 🤢
My fav character was ruined hell so much!
But I liked the Code breaking at the end..It was very intelligent and all..
But as I said..I got a distaste down the lane, it became so messy---it was kind of a Typical American Novel...
so give it a try , u may not be too disappointed afterall.
as for me, I think Dan Brown's A&D and Da Vinci stand head n shoulder's abv DF and DF pales very much in comparison.

Hey Pooja - thnx a lot for the welcome...😊 I have always loved reading but never got a chance to take out time for it - earlier due to studies, and then work... Finally I was able to spare time out and this was the book I made a start with after a long time... And here I am in this forum😛 Before this, the last book I read was Treasure Island as I just love it for various reasons😳 Hope to have some nice discussions here...

Oh Gosh, I agree with u so so much on most of what you have said👏 Exactly my thoughts, although I might be happy giving the book a 7/10 from my side😳 I totally agree - the book started off so brilliantly, but it took a slump towards the middle... I felt some parts were totally avoidable - they overdid the Spain portions a bit more than my liking... Also, towards the end, I felt there was a lot of unnecessary confusion and drama with Starthmore and Crypto and that stupid TRANSLTR threatening to get burnt 😆 For the code breaking, I think it was good till the point when they made the characters meaningful, but after that it should have been childs play and was again over stretched - the moment I saw Uranium there, I knew it was *(I edited it to avoid spoiling the suspense)😳, but somehow, those top security officials and programmers couldnt make it out😕

On the whole I still liked it😊

well often what u dont make out is the simplest thing in the world..who wud have thought that Ensie(My memory gets it right doesnt it? I am not sure if thats his name...😳) was giving it away with his hands!?😉
I liked the Crypto part n all fine...U know a "Digital Fortress", an impregnable code will absolutely ruin NSA. Strathmore obviously was very worried. I liked all that stuff. And at the end, Brown stuck to being realistic and prudent and it turned out to be a hollow threat but boy didnt it work?? TRSLATR got blown up and so did the brain behind it!(😭)...what seemed bizzare to me was that Love that propped up sumwhere down the lane b/w u know who! (pity it was a one way traffic...already reserved!)😆
and to sum extend, I found the Spain part entertaining...At the end, it was terriffic but at the same time idiotic in many ways but so be it...
Its not a bad read, But not at all a satisfying one.

Not much to say but it is a readable, typical American book.

i read this boo abt 2 yras ago.
and i completely agree that the book was very gripping in the begining and lost its by the end.
and the whole book i alwyas took it as fatherly love not THE LOVE. lol. well dan brown was doing a great job with the suspense and then just overboard it with suprises by adding the one way love thing. well neways.
the sweetest thing i got from this book was the who without wax thing.
whenever i write a personal note/letter i always put it at the end.
i think its neat how dan brown added tht in the book.
😊
