Its a brilliant book. What I find most stunning is that on the surface the characters seem so simple and then they are warped into something else altogether with perfectly plausible reasons. Puzo is a genuis!

Indeed, and what really intrigues me about Puzo's work is the incredible sense of moral and religious conviction that what they do is right and good. It makes you believe in the characters...

Agreed! I almost began empathyizing with the characters only to question myself on the morality of things but I do realise morality is subjective.The scenario, truly ,is grey. Also I found an argument put forth by Puzo to be very interesting- Is living with respect and dignity more important than sustaining your family with a roof above their head & food to come home to.

I am eager to see the movie though I usually avoid movies adapted from books but I can't wait to see this one. :)

It's doesn't happen often but I actually found the movie to be better than the book! But for some the imagination is much more powerful than the eye. :)
