I’m sceptical about trying new authors for a challenge. Then again, it worked well for me this month (I’m doing a diff challenge on FB) so I might try it!

Hey Lizzie,

Perhaps this is a stupid question. But do clarify (since I am planning my month's reading list) if the essays as single essays are not allowed or they are also not allowed when they are put as part of a collection. Say, for example, I want to read this Book of selected essays of John Berger. The collection is a published book, which contains like 100+ essays in it. Will that count for the log? Or not?

If not, could you specify what all is excluded from non-fiction genre?

collection of essays in a book is fine. I was talking about single essays - I think someone (was it you?) mentioned grading student essays and I was excluding those.

Non-fiction books as a genre are fine provided they are Chapter books.

Oh okay. I did mention the essays. But I meant the books because that is most of the books I read.

I was reading Four Winds - almost finished it long back, but I stopped because of the last part being very sad - but I am planning to finish it first as part of this challenge.

Next, I want to start afresh with a mystery read or thriller.

I have few in the list, but as I am going to start afresh, I can also take suggestions if anyone has any recommendations.

I have way too many books on my reading list already, so book club would be hard to managesmiley36

Also I was reading Pretty Girls by karin Slaughter and trying to finish it before 1st so I could start a new book for this but I am just halfway through, so looks like I might just be continuing thatsmiley24

Can I do that?smiley3
Multiple books/fictions at the same time... just ensure I log pages for them separately?smiley9

Yep you can. Since you’re only logging books when you finish them, it doesn’t matter when you started and how long you take as long as it’s within the month (and you can DNF or half-read them too!) No rule that you have to read only one book at a time!
