Try Dean Koontz.Some of his books can keep you on the edge of your seat while others can put you to sleep.

I don't know how to categorise this book, but you need to try it. It's called "Level 26" by Anthony E Zuiker (CSI makers). Freaking scary and intriguing. Perfect if you want something that gives goosebumps.

Alert: you might get some nightmares.

Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte

It's a Gothic romance. Let's just say I was depressed for 3-4 days after reading this. It's oddly captivating and just depressing.

No dude you are wrong here, no book is "girly". A book is just that. A book. Anyone can read any book. There is no issue whether you are a boy or a girl. Literature is equally open to both and every author writes novels for both the genders. Literature, like music and movies, is not gender based, its just entertainment.
