Media boycotts KJo and Kajol!

It was a day of when media and celebrities took on each other. While Abhishek Bachchan snapped at a journalist during a press conference, the media boycotted Karan Johar and Kajol's book-reading session at another venue.

The two celebrities were to be part of the book reading of The Alchemist, which is to be adapted into a play by Ashwin Gidwani Productions. Journalist-writer Deepa Gahlot has scripted the play while Sunil Shanbag will direct it.

However the two failed to turn up for over two hours even as the media was refused any refreshments whatsoever. Finally after the patient wait, most media persons decided to leave for a photography exhibition next door.

After waiting for almost two hours and sensing that they might not get any interesting sound bytes from either Karan Johar or Kajol, the electronic media and most of the print journalists packed their bags and left in a huff.

It was after this that Karan Johar, dressed in a spotless white shirt decided to walk in. Kajol too walked in about 10 minutes later dressed in a dark green top and a pair of black trousers.

VJ Gaurav moderated the event as he interacted with the celebrities on the dais.

KJo called The Alchemist 'the mother of all self-help books' while Kajol pointed out, "You don't have to be a voracious reader to be able to read this book."

Soon after the event was over, the two were whisked away with neither willing to talk about My Name is Khan.

Meanwhile spotted at the exhibition were Homi Adajania, director of Being Cyrus and a pregnant and glowing Anaita Shroff Adajania, Jeroo Mulla and some more social butterflies.
