Hi

i watched KANK yesterday again on dvd n i thought it wasn't a bad film

ppl shouldnt judge what characters do in the movie coz those are personal choices that

ppl make even in real life which cant always be rosy n perfect

depends on circumstances n what they feel is right

i dont want to offend anyone but maybe maya and dev werent bad people at all

what do you guys think?

I loved KANK. From characters to songs to picturisation..everything. 😊

I think Dev and Maya were too confused souls who didn't know what they wanted in life. The ending gives away everything about them. Dev would never change and his ego will always ruin relationships. In the end it was clear that even when he ends up with Maya, they would face the same problems. Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Towards the end Rhea tells Maya that 'I want you to live with Dev only then you will realize what it is to live with him'.

Karan Johar got a lot of criticism for making Rishi's character so lovable and yet Maya not loving him and cheating on him. The explanation he gave was in reality he perceived Maya's character to be much older that Rishi and it was supposed to be played by Kajol. Rhea wanted a mature man in her life and to her Rishi always remained a kid whom she could only mother but never love. But KJo couldn't put the exact same thing on canvas because Kajol refused the role for lack of time and Rani looked younger than Rishi.

hey i didn't know maya was supposed to be older than rishi

but even if maya n rishi were the same age it shouldnt matter coz no matter how much rishi loved maya
its for maya to decide whether she too loved him or not

a one sided reltionship never works n maya wasnt even sure if rishi was the one she wanted to marry

she married him for his sake n that was wrong

I did not see why people hated the film so much just beacuse it was made by a asian i think the point karan was trying to make was just that people make bad decisions it does not make them bad people and trying to reflect todays life..dev fell out with his wife because of circumstances and as for maya yes abhisehik was a nice guy and she was mad to leave him but she married him for the wrong reason and she was too different to him i dont think kids thing was big issue as was the fact she just didnt accept him.

the movie was brilliant because it was real to life. its true that in life many marriages don't work for some reason or anotherr and some people either compromise and stay in the marriage whilst others feel lonely as so end up having an affair. i don't agree with husbands or wifes cheating on each other but i think if a marriage is not working out even after trying so many times to work it out then the marriage should end. in kank dev and maya did wrong by goin behind rishi and rheas back they should have ended their marriages and then gotten together instead of having an affair. but maya and dev i suppose were helpless because they fell in love which was not their fault their only fault was lying to thier spouses. some people just hated the movie as they don't like reality they just like movies where everythign is rosy and prom free and which avoids controversy, like tara rum was a good movie in my opinion as it was real to life and has a great message which was that education matters and that we should be sensible with money to secure our futures instead of spending it without thinking about it, but it only did average business.

I think ppl reacted like that because we always see a film but we don;t see realities in films.........and this was reality that's why.........
