Salman Khan ke Dus Kadam

A source close to the actor tells us that Sallu is making sure he gets in some amount of practice every day in his schedule. "Salman is currently filming for Mr. and Mrs. Khanna at Film City. So during that schedule he is always asking questions and discussing his ideas with Sohail and the rest of his camp. And then once he finishes shooting depending on the time he either heads home or to Mehboob Studios."

Like SRK, Salman has had a mock set of Dus Kadam built at Mehboob Studios for his practice run. "He invites his closest friends to sit in the contestant's seat and he questions them. Sometimes if no one can make it he will just put anyone on the set in the seat. As it is he loves interacting with the public and so he is more than happy to play with the aam junta too!" says the source.

And when Sallubhai can't make it to Mehboob studios he heads home and starts quizzing the family there.

"Salman is quizzing everyone all the time! It's quite funny… From Arbaaz to Malaika to Arpita to Salim uncle and Helen and Salma aunty. He hasn't spared anyone at home. He also quizzes his nieces and nephews!" adds the source.

Format of Dus Kadam

Dus Kadam is based on the American television game show Power of Ten hosted by Drew Carey on channel CBS.

The Start-Off

The show starts with two contestants who will compete to participate in the single player game. They will be asked five questions. The participant whose answer is the closest to the actual answer wins a point. Winner of three points gets to move forward.

The Game

The game is similar to the start off. The contestant has to guess the answers for questions based on public survey. But here they are provided with buffer by giving range points. Total five questions are asked. For the first question the range is forty points. For every subsequent question the range point gets decreased by ten. So for the second last question the range point is dropped to ten points and for the final question the contestant has to say the exact number.

The Ditch

If the contestant answers the first or the second question incorrectly, he has to walk away with nothing. However, if the contestant answers any of the remaining questions with a wrong answer then he is given one-tenth of the prize money.

Help Me!

The contestant is helped with two lifelines:

Audience Poll: The audience poll their answers to the question asked and this is displayed on the screen. It is up to the contestant to consider the audience's answer. Unlike Kaun Banega Crorepati the audience poll helpline is available throughout the game.

Family Or Friend's Help: The contestant can choose to get help from a family member or a friend.
