Yash Raj: Trying all the tricks in the book | 2008-04-08
Casting novices seems to be their agenda! 'Yash Raj Films' has undoubtedly been one of the giants of the Indian film industry. But with quite a few of their recent films going down the drain, they seem to have hit some sort of a dry patch.
Needless to say, their planning must be top notch this time and they're having a lot of difficulty coping up with their own standards.
As someone says, "Success is no doubt a double edged weapon"!
Although films like 'Aaja Nachle', 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' 'Laaga Chunari Main Daag' and 'Ta Ra Rum Pum' had the necessary big star cast and the glamour quotient, they all bombed and quite deservingly.
Man, they did manage to deliver some seriously obnoxious crap!
This time around they seem to be targeting the more amateurish actors. Not that all the others are experts of any kind!
With actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Minissha Lamba and very surprisingly Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra, 'Yash Raj' seems to be completely panic stricken.
Imagine people like Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra are now gonna play lead roles in their movies. Wonder, if B-grade movies are their next target.
Although Rakhi's inclusion is still far from materialising, Sherlyn has been signed opposite Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in the 'Yash Raj' flick to be directed by Anurag Singh.
We were completely taken aback and decided to speak to her PR and he said, "Yes, Sherlyn has been signed by 'Yash Raj' for their next movie opposite Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. This movie is to be directed by Anurag Singh."
Sherlyn obviously must be gloating like hell by now, only time will tell whether this ploy will fire or backfire!
