'Kangana has a perfect body'

In the glamour world, favours reap celebrity harvest.

Narendra Kumar designed the costumes for actress Kangana Ranaut's upcoming movie 'Fashion' and in return wanted a favour - that Raut should walk the ramp for his showcase at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) here.

'Narendra designed my clothes. While designing my outfits, he told me that I would have to walk the ramp for him,' Kangana told after the show here Monday night.

'I think his clothes are beautiful and believe me, I enjoyed walking the ramp for him,' the actress said.

The actress walked the ramp in a one-piece white corset and burgundy lehenga. It was accessorised with ethnic costume jewellery.

'The first time I saw Kangana, I told her that you are going to be my showstopper. Because besides being a wonderful actress, she is a great model too. She possesses the perfect combination of intelligence, body and the right attitude required for my clothes,' Kumar said.

But the actress was not the only one who caught eyeballs. Glamour icons like Simi Garewal, Rahul Bose, Hritesh Deshmukh and director Madhur Bhandarkar were seated in the front row of the star-studded show.

'It was a great show. Kangana is a very good actress and an amazing model. Whatever she does, it's with full sincerity,' Bhandarkar raved.

Bose said: 'When I came for the show, I knew I was going to see well-finished sophisticated clothes, but what surprised me was the wonderful colour palette - pinks, reds and browns. The stuff was exquisite.

'Moreover, it was good to see how people (stars) from one profession (film industry) come and support people of other profession (fashion industry),' Bose said.

Speaking about the collection, Kumar said: 'It was based on the city of Jaipur - the pink city - its pavilions and palaces. It is about lost romance... something that everyone has at some point of time... and how when it reappears or just reoccurs in your thoughts, you lose the grip over your mind for 15 minutes.

'As the collection is about romance the palette encompassed shades of pinks, reds, maroons, fuchsias, browns and silvers. Furthermore, the West is facing a recession. So one sees all kinds of dark shades in their lines. We are happy people; so why not use a riot of colours instead of blindly copying the West.'

On offer were halter tops, jackets with oversize collars, tops with woollen sleeves, smocked tube dresses, quilted jackets, short blouson skirts, duchess silver satin waistcoats, net tops, silver pants, georgette tops, overcoats, zippered jackets, tweed pants, corset tops and shift dresses.

Fabrics like tweeds, satins, applique, organza nets, brocade and silks were used for the outfits. The designer embellished his collection with sequin work, zardozi work, applique embroidery and smocking.

The five-day fashion fiesta will end April 2.

hahaha flat as a pancake. i agree. but i usualy refer to such ppl as ironing boards. but i dnt like kangna, she really needs to learn how to speak properly and dub her own movies. is it just me or has she really got a lisp???

she doesn't evn dub for her own movies?. i didnt know tht. no i agree she does hve a lisp 😆 and seriously when shes thanking people on awrds she sounds so bad i always think omg learn english properly n sort out ur accent especially since a lot of bollywood actresses speak english quite well like kareena n ash. by the way i knw its nt related to this bt i jst wnted to knw tht in oso ws tht dips real voice r did sme else dub for her n is tht sonams real voice in saawariya.

deepika's voice was dubbed but sonams's voice was her own. dats y its alot more sad dat sonam didnt even get a single award coz deepika's acting js looked horrible and fake and like she put no effort into coz of da voice.

well since dips voice ws dubbed sona definately deserved the awrds bt she hs won 1 she won at stardust awards. i didnt knw b4 tht dips voice ws dubbed n so i tght she deserved the awrd more thn sona since she hd mre acting scenes bt nw ive definately chnd my mind. wonder if dips gnna dub herself for bachna ae haseeno or whther shes gnna go a katrina n gt hr voice dubbed for atleat 3 more films 😆

but i lurrrrrvvv sonams voice, its sooooo sweet and cute and u can tell shez properr grounded js from dat.

i think sonams acting was wayyy better coz it was a typical bollywood glamourous film wid a few dance sequences here and der. every scene was performance oriented and takes a lottt to act the way she did and emote the expressions she did sooo she deserved alott more awards den just da 1.

i just hope dat 1 award was not a symphathy award

she got about 2 awards @ each event and not a single 4 sonam saddd. maybe cozz in the future sonam aint gonna let any1 grab any awards so its like enjoy how much ever u want to 4 now 😆

she deffo aint perfect for me. shez still got a long way to go. her body type is js of that sort where she wnt put any weight on no matter how hard u try.

thoo 1 thing i do like bout her is dat she sed she would never get plastic surgeory done to achieve the best. ie: she will not have a boob job done.
