| There are people who want to add fuel to the Amitabh Bachchan-Shah Rukh Khan fire. In order to checkmate Star Plus, Zee TV has asked Big B to host a quiz show, which would lock horns with Star Plus's upcoming quiz show to be hosted by SRK Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? Our well-placed source in the TV industry says, "Punit Goenka, son of Zee TV's head honcho, Subhash Chandra Agarwal, has been repeatedly meeting Bachchan since the past few days. Punit is very keen that Zee kills the Star Plus show." Apparently, Punit has been riding high on Bachchan's interviews where he said, "Yes, there is competition between SRK and me, it is healthy to have competition." Bachchan albeit seems to have developed new ideas. Our source adds, "Bachchan is in no mood to pursue his competition with SRK. He has made it clear to Punit that he will not do the show if Zee TV plans to pitch it around the same time as Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?" Have Bachchan and SRK patched up, we ask. Our source reveals, "There has never been an open fight between Bachchan and SRK. So there is no question of patch up. But yes, friction had developed between the two when SRK grabbed KBC 3, which was originally meant for Bachchan. A long time has passed since then and both have moved on in their life. Bachchan doesn't want to revive those unpleasant old memories again and have constant comparisons drawn out in the press if both shows go on air around the same time." So will the Bachchan-Zee show happen? Our source says, "It will. Bachchan has given his consent to Zee. But it will happen only when Bachchan wants it." Goenka and Bachchan chose to remain silent. We sent them a text message 'quizzing' them about the story, but both did not reply. |
