Tough Sallu shows his soft side again

2 C's seem to be part and parcel of actor Salman Khan's life. While the first 'C' we are referring to is obviously controversies, the second 'C' stands for charity. The tough actor with a soft heart is known to be ever-ready to extend his helping hand to the poor and needy. The latest news doing the rounds is that the beefcake actor, who was present on the sets of the kids reality show Chhote Ustad not only entertained the kids present with his antics but also spontaneously donated an amount of Rs. 5 lakh to Sahara Shaha (a 4 year-old girl suffering from leukemia). Young Sahara's mother couldn't thank the superstar enough for playing the role of an angel in her daughter's life.

As for us, what else can we say except 'Sallu Tussi Great Ho

Salman plays angel, again

Bollywood's former delinquent has donated Rs 5 lakh to a cancer-afflicted child on the sets of music reality show Chhote Ustad

It's becoming a bit of a clich. But Sallu has done it again. He's donated some hard cash from his Bollywood booty. The quintessential bad boy of tinsel town, Salman Khan has flashed his philanthropic side once more. Last week, on the sets of music reality show, Chhote Ustad, (produced by Saibaba Telefilms) Sallu donated Rs 5 lakh to 4-year-old Sahara Shaha, who is suffering from leukemia.

Tata Memorial hospital had sent eight children afflicted with cancer to the sets of Chhote Ustad. Salman developed a soft corner for the 4-year-old Sahara. Said a source from the sets of Chhote Ustad, "Sahara sat with him throughout the shooting."

When contacted, Sahara's mother confirmed the story and said, "Main kya bolun? Woh to bhagwan hai. I had no money to treat my daughter any further. I am sure God could not see the plight of my child anymore and sent Salman to her aid. He has given Sahara a new life. This money will certainly help us to carry on her treatment."

But doesn't her husband earn enough to carry on Sahara's treatment? Said Sahara's mother, "I have no idea where he is. He went to Kuwait when Sahara was one month old. Sahara was struck with cancer when she was six months old. When he came to know about her condition, he simply disappeared. I haven't heard from him since."



She added, "I have lost all contact with him. He has even changed his number. From that day, I have no financial support. I stay in a jhopadpatti and I can't even go to work because of Sahara's health." Though Sallu was not available for comment, his father, Salim Khan, confirmed the story, saying, "Yes, it is true that Salman has donated Rs 5 lakh to Sahara."

Not so long ago, Alka Kapadia, executive director of Cancer Patients Aid Association, had said, "People may call him rude and arrogant, but we have seen a side to Salman that is humane, loving and caring. I know many stars do charity, but no one does it like Salman Khan."

This was really sweet of Salman to do, I love reading about celebs giving back. Salman has a heart of gold!

I saw the episode today, Salman was such a sweetheart! Sahara is so cute! Her face just lit up seeing Salman!
