The girl needs to have a normal life after the case is over, I don't think she will have one when everyone knows who she is, she won't be able to move on.

Its already a misfortune that such acts of inhuman behaviour are inflicted on her. And her face splashed across the newspaper or the media channel is just making it worse. Its just not helping for the girl to remain Anonymous and move on with her life. When everyone is going to know who she is...😕

In a country where media and media alone brought justice to Priyadarshini Mattoo case sometimes these things actually becomes necessary. This girl is scarred but she needs justice. Sad but the reality is these things happen almost everyday and goes unnoticed because the girl wants to be anonymous and live a scarred life for ever. People actually become more vocal after seeing such pictures and reading more about it.

I am sure now this case is going to bring justice to the girl because of media interference. Sometimes media does good things too.

Seasoned cops used to third degree treatment have not been able to digest the signs of brutal torture on the body of the 12-year-old girl tortured by small-time actress Huma Khan and her brother. Horrified by the child's plight, the police now want people to come forward to rehabilitate the girl, saying a healing touch is essential to ease her trauma. The victim is still frightened, and a wound inflicted on her tongue has severely impaired her speech."The little girl's condition is spine-chilling. She has scars from deep stab wounds all over her body and we cannot even think of the scars these incidents have left on her mind," Superintendent of Police (Thane Rural) Naval Bajaj told Mumbai Mirror. According to Bajaj, the girl is in dire need of care and rehabilitation but the police cannot suggest legal adoption, since the girl's mother is alive. In fact, Thane Rural police has contacted the Child Helpline of the Union Government, as well as some NGOs for the child's rehabilitation. "She has burns from cigarette butts and even her genitals bear stab wounds," said a Mira Road police station officer, who did not wish to be named. Medical reports have confirmed that the victim was sexually assaulted. Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sharada Nikam, who is supervising the investigations in the case, said she has been communicating with the girl and she has opened up a lot. Huma Khan at the Thane court on Saturday "We are focusing on the investigation part and collecting evidence. We will soon turn to rehabilitation of the kid. Some NGOs are already in touch with us," Nikam said. But while a police officer almost fainted recently on seeing the girl's wounds, Huma Khan was all smiles when she was brought to the Thane Court on Saturday for her second hearing. WE WANT JUSTICE The 12-year-old victim's mother Reshma Vishwakarma, meanwhile, is shattered. "We don't want money. We just want justice," she said. A Nepali migrant who earns a living by doing domestic chores at Mira Road, Reshma used to work for Huma Khan. Khan took the victim to her Pune residence in June 2007 and since Reshma received remuneration regularly, she did not suspect any foul play. It was during this stay that Khan allegedly tortured the child. The victim was also allegedly raped by Khan's 'rakhi' brother Shamimuddin Shaikh. Khan used to regularly call up Reshma once in 15 days and let her talk to her child. "She sounded happy on the phone every time Khan called. But on February 23 evening, Khan put my daughter on a train from Pune. She reached home the next day in a very bad state. She was not able to utter a word. She is yet to recover," said Reshma. Huma Khan and Shaikh were arrested by Mira Road police last week after Reshma, 35, lodged a complaint at Mira Road police station. The charges are kidnapping (Sec 363 IPC), attempt to murder (307 IPC), rape (376 IPC) and violation of Juvenile Justice Act. The victim's parents are now concerned about their daughter's future. "We want her to recover from the trauma soon. We will ask her to rest for a while then admit her to school," said her father, Mansi. The Vishwakarmas have three daughters and two sons, and the victim is their third child.
