Dutt says jaldi karo Hiranibhai Sanjay Dutt is extremely keen on doing Munnabhai Chale Amrika and wants it to be completed before his six months bail term ends. The hitch is Rajkumar Hirani is yet to complete it's scripting and he has started concentrating on making a film on the bestseller Five Point Someone and one more with Aamir Khan in the lead titled, Idiot. Our sources inform, "Amongst the first things that Sanjay Dutt did after coming back from jail was speak to Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra and requested them to hurry up with the production planning of the next in the Munnabhai series." "In his first interview to media too on the day he arrived from his 37-day jail term in Yerawada prison, Dutt had declared he wanted to do the next Munnabhai film because he knows all his fans are desperately waiting for that. If he goes back to jail again after six months no one knows how long that will be for. He is very eager to gift his fans the next Munnabhai film before that happens," the source continues. "Hirani had started scripting the Munnabhai sequel which was planned to be shot in the US with the theme of Munna and his loyal side kick cum friend Circuit taking on George Bush. But nothing concrete was coming out. The controversial star's court cases and two jail visits post that had left the Munnabhai makers confused about how to go ahead with it. During those times, the makers had even planned to stall the project temporarily till Dutt would be out for a very long period. Hirani too had left the scripting midway and started paying more attention to the on screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone but then again when he started having casting troubles with Shah Rukh Khan backing out of it he diverted his attention to Aamir Khan for a film titled Idiot," the source adds. "Now Hirani, it seems is in a fix because Aamir has given his nod for Idiot and at the same time Sanjay Dutt wants to make Munnabhai Chale Amrika as soon as possible in the limited time he has on hand. But looking back at the relation the Munnabhai makers share with Dutt, it is very likely that the third Munnabhai film will be given top priority with the theme most probably completely different than that of Munnabhai Chale Amriak keeping in mind Dutt's legal issues involved with shooting abroad. Dutt presently has Alibaug, Kidnap, Mr. Fraud and EMI pending but he is willing to going out of his way to accommodate the Munnabhai sequel," the source concludes. Both Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Hirani were unavailable for their comments in this regard. |
