Promos of Balaji's new show Kya Dill Mein Hai resemble Saawariya

The new Balaji show Kya Dill Mein Hai with Aamir Ali and newcomer Abigail in the lead recently went on air. However, the promos of the show on 9X that have been doing the rounds for weeks, look similar to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya.

Totally floored

A source working on the show reveals, "Ekta loves the creative genius that Bhansali is and follows his work closely. She was quite impressed with the visuals and wanted to incorporate them on the new show. Earlier she also loved Devdas and tried to get the look in one of her shows."
The show's creative head Suraj Rao agrees that Saawariya was indeed a point of reference for the promos. "It's just the colour and the feel of Saawariya that we've incorporated. There's no similarity between the concept or the story. We've used the colour blue and the peacock feather as symbols to show love."
When asked, Ekta remarked in her trademark joviality, "I really liked the visual. But I loved the Om Shanti Om look. My next take will be on OSO!"
