Shilpa losing ground in the UK
Is Shilpa Shetty losing her ground in UK? The Bollywood actor, who earlier impressed British audienceswith her stint in 'Big Brother', has failed to impress British critics with her new musical 'Ms Bollywood'.
The musical which premiered in UK on November 3, 2007, has attracted rather strong responses from the critics. British masses, who were bowled over by the actress' stoic stance on racism in the reality TV show 'Big Brother', are not impressed by her new endeavour.
The musical was slated to premier in London's West End theatre. Shortage of takers, however, made it head first for Germany. The show, scripted by Bollywood screen writer Niranjan Iyengar, has not gone down too well and critics are not mincing words about it either.
Some have termed it as a lacklustre "half-baked vehicle", with the dancers seemingly so mechanical, the script diabolical, the acting stints amateurish and the costumes too looking very inordinate and out of place. Though Shetty is trying all out, to cash in on her popularity with the usually hard-hearted Brits. Any which way, this musical looks like that it could just be a case of a move gone totally wrong.
