MUMBAI: Pop sensation Beyonce Knowles rocked Mumbai as a large gathering of mostly youngsters danced to her hit numbers at a dazzling concert on Saturday evening.

The crowd went euphoric when Beyonce came on the stage at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra, even as pyrotechnics and laser special effects enveloped her glittering white and red costume. Her famed 10-member all-woman band was accompanied by a couple of men this time.

As with any rock concert, the 15,000-plus crowds danced, jumped, sang and enjoyed to their hearts content as she belted out her evergreen number like 'No, No, Bill, Bill, Bill', 'Dangerously in Love' and others. The open-air venue with a 40-foot covered stage was packed almost to capacity.

The 10-time Grammy Award winner American pop star arrived here from Ethiopia Friday night as part of her 'The Beyonce Experience - 2007 World Tour'.

Beyonce, a member of Destiny's Child, released her first solo album, 'Dangerously in Love' in 2003, which won her five Grammy Awards.

The singer has also dabbled in Hollywood with films like 'The Pink Panther' and 'Dreamgirls'.

Bootylicious singing sensation Beyonce met the cricketer and later, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

MUMBAI: Yuvraj Singh is a happy man. On Saturday evening, the cricketer finally got his wish when he met the sexy crooner, Beyonce Knowles. Needless to say, he seemed smitten. "She is truly charming, and it has been a great pleasure meeting her," were his first words after the little chat and photo session he had with Beyonce, at the Grand Hyatt, prior to her concert.

"She told me how much she's enjoying the spicy food, and of course, Mumbai," said an ecstatic Yuvi. "I see all this hype around her and how well she is handling it at such a young age. She kind of reminds me of myself, because I have had to deal with it too, not once, but many times. I have learnt that it is essential to keep yourself grounded, despite all the acclaim. I think Beyonce is one star who is able to maintain her innocence, in spite of all the hype."

Now, given a chance, the cricketer also wants to meet Hollywood actor George Clooney. "It would be great if I can be as charming as he is when I'm his age."

After the show, Beyonce also met up with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
