Enough of the Rani-Abhishek combo..

Rani and Saif, Saif and Preity, Preity and Shah Rukh, Shah Rukh and Abhishek, Abhishek and Amitabh, Amitabh and Rani, Rani and Preity, etc. etc. etc. These were the few of the many permutations and combinations which the Yash Raj banner was accustomed to making in the recent past. Constantly repeating their actors, there was a sense of dj vu while watching their films even though the themes might have been different. For instance Ta Ra Rum Pum did not even have a good opening despite having a unique theme. The pairing of Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee was not something which we didn't see before. They appeared opposite each other in another Yash Raj film Hum Tum . The latest from the Yash Raj camp is Laaga Chunari Mein Daag with Rani Mukherjee opposite Abhishek Bachchan. How many of us are actually interested in watching this pair after so many films together?

A fresh cast (not necessarily a new or debuting one) is what seemed to be the order of the day and Yash Raj is looking just for that. They have worked and signed with some established actors and have also buried the hatchet with some of them.
