Whats with their "hand locking"

Ok got it that they both are making their debut with this movie but we have seen so many making that but not LIKE THIS HOLDING HANDS.

Good thing is it seems that Ranbir is protective towards her adn so keep her near him...that I saw on the VOI too...when she was not dancing he went upon stage and asked her to dance with him...
