It is said that three top actresses Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra are trying their best to bag Madhur Bhandarkar's forthcoming venture Fashion. The rivalry between the actresses is well-known and so it will be interesting to watch who will bag the role in the film based on the fashion industry.
Sources close to Madhur reveal that he has finished scripting Fashion and is currently finalising the lead heroine. "When news was out that he had approached Priyanka for the role, Kareena immediately met him and expressed her eagerness to work with him. Bipasha, who had worked earlier with Madhur in Corporate, also had a meeting with him," says a source
It has also been said that there was a time when Madhur had approached Kareena and Priyanka for Page 3 but they had refused. He had even approached them again, after Page 3's unanticipated success and multiple National Awards, when he was casting for Corporate but once more they had shown a clear disinterest in working with him. Madhur now is unavailable for comment.
He is known for bringing out the best from his lead actresses for all of his heroine-oriented subjects like Chandni Bar (Tabu), Satta (Raveena Tandon), Page 3 (Konkona Sen Sharma) and Corporate (Bipasha) and therefore the competition to act in Madhur's Fashion has become fierce.
The Kareena-Bipasha rivalry has been talked about for long as they have been making digs at each other in print and television chat shows. It all started with Ajnabee (2001) which was Bipasha's debut film where Kareena was her co-star. Years later, during a chat show on television, Bips's boyfriend John Abraham had commented on Rani Mukherji being a better actress than Kareena. Kareena had hit back at him in one of the episodes of the same chat show saying, "John is the most expressionless actor in the industry." Priyanka and Kareena, though, have been denying any animosity between them
