The cracks in John Abraham and Bipasha Basu's relationship have deepened. So much so, that they haven't spoken in over a week It's Over, Almost: Bipasha Basu and John Abraham Five years since they became a couple, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham's relationship is in trouble. Even as an actor close to the couple insists that the romance is over, friends are hopeful that 'this too shall pass.' The relationship hasn't been running a smooth course for a while now, and the couple has come close to splitting many times. However, they've always managed to get back on course and sources insist it's because of Bipasha. She has always been faithful to her boyfriend, but it seems the same cannot be said about John. Enough! A close friend of the actress says, "Bipasha's affection for Saif Ali Khan grew stronger after she heard rumours about John's proximity to debutante actress Sheetal Menon (who is working in Nari Hira's Bhram). John has been unfaithful to her not once but many times. Now, Bipasha has had enough." The friend goes on to add that the actress is a sorry state right now. "Bipasha is in a daze. She knows what she has to do, but it's not easy giving up on a relationship of five years. She cannot compromise on her dignity anymore and hasn't been talking to him for over a week," says the friend. "Bipasha has been loyal to him throughout their relationship, but his flings have kept on multiplying. Initially, she refused to believe that John was cheating on her. When she finally started questioning his fidelity, the fights began. She knew he was cheating on her but then chose to overlook his philandering ways." The relationship almost went kaput when Bipasha learnt that John and Vidya Balan had been openly flirting on the sets of Salaam-E-Ishq last year. "But she stayed on because she values relationships. She put on an act and went all out to the media saying that her relationship was fine and John had nothing to do with Vidya," says the friend. Set pe ishq? Bipasha finally felt it was time to say goodbye when stories about John and Sheetal become public last month. Since the past 10 days, neither of them has made an effort to get in touch with the other — no SMS, not even a missed call. The source says Bipasha is now trying to move on. "She is meeting more people in the industry and has even started visiting friends like Saif at home, but she is not having an affair with him. She cannot flush John out of her system so easily. She goes blank at times and her voice chokes with emotion. She can't understand what went wrong," the friend says. "Bipasha's mother always told her that she didn't think John was right for her, but she ignored it. Even today, she refuses to accept that John is no longer a part of her life. The popular belief is that the couple called it off just before Bipasha left for an awards gala in Yorkshire and John headed to Hyderabad to shoot for Nagesh Kukunoor's Aashayen. Bipasha and John Close friends of the couple inform us that they have been quarrelling a lot for a while now. They says that John and Bips decided not to spend a single day with each other once they got back from their hectic schedule of Goal recently. Director Vivek Agnihotri also informs that John was not overjoyed when Bipasha was roped in for the film. The story goes that after having signed him, the director had asked John to recommend a few actresses. While Priyanka Chopra topped the list, Bipasha's name didn't even figure in the list. However, Bipasha had later called Agnihotri and asked for the role. And John had gamely played along. Nevertheless, the couple are yet to make their split official. Says a source, "They are not going to make it official any time soon as they need to make together appearances for a certain brand. But in reality it's all over between them." Bipasha Basu may not be too much at a loss after her split with John. She's spoilt for choice as Saif Ali Khan and Dino Morea are already vying for her attention.

The hullabaloo surrounding the impending John Abraham and Bipasha Basu split just refuses to die down. Bips is definitely not sulking over her not-so-happy relationship and is in a mood to spoil herself. If sources are to be believed, her newfound friend Saif Ali Khan and former boyfriend Dino Morea have already made a move on the actress. The episode just gets murkier as close friends inform us that the feisty actress has now given an ultimatum to John to 'behave himself'. He is now away, filming in Hyderabad.

Obviously, the actress wants to be with John after all those media interviews about having pretty babies and living happily together. Apparently, the actress is waiting for John to return to the city before she takes her final call. Says a reliable source, "She is making attempts to mend her broken relationship with John. She has given herself a certain period of time. If things don't work out between the two, she will move on."

This should bring a smile to Saif's face who, we've heard, is rather keen to step up his friendship with her. The duo befriended each other on the sets of Abbas Mustan's Race. Bipasha has been confiding in Saif for a while now.

Says a close friend, "Saif and Bipasha do make a good pair. Saif is extremely keen on dating Bips. But she is yet to reciprocate her feelings. So Saif is still unsure about which way the relationship will head."

However, the actress is a little upset with her ex, Dino Morea, who has been talking about the duo patching up for good. The duo made an appearance together at a fashion store last month. They were also seen together at a recently concluded awards gala in Yorkshire. Dino is more than keen to get back with Bips.

However, Bips wants to take her time and not rush into anything just yet.
