Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh was left in the lurch when the Sippys backed out from producing his film. However, Amitabh Bachchan stood by the director.
Sujoy Ghosh , who has in the past directed films like 'Jhankaar Beats' and Home Delivery , has been gung-ho about his next movie, Aladdin . It is a fantasy film that has Amitabh Bachchan playing a genie.
Earlier, Ramesh Sippy and Rohan Sippy were supposed to produce the film. But because of unknown reasons, the Sippys are now redefining their professional relationship with Ghosh and have decided not to produce 'Aladdin'.
Despite the Sippys' pullout from the project, Amitabh Bachchan showed confidence in Ghosh's vision for the movie and stayed committed to the project.
This gave tremendous confidence to Ghosh. He has now decided to produce the film himself.
A media report quotes Ghosh as saying that in the time of crisis Big B rescued him like a genie. He says he has nothing to fear as long as 'God' is with him. And by 'God' he says he means Mr. Bachchan.
On his part, Big B says Ghosh is very passionate about his work and he (Big B) is sure that Ghosh will make a good movie.
Apart from Amitabh, 'Aladdin' stars Ritesh Deshmukh , Sanjay Dutt , Ayesha Takia and Juhi Chawla .
