SRK and Karishma weren't really paired together in Shakti. SRK had a guest appearance in the film. The 'hero' of the movie was Sanjay Kapoor.
But yes, I would say they were paired together in DTPH even though SRK and Madhuri are considered the main leads.

SRK-Karishma did Dil to Pagal Hai i think that was the best role for them as the Kapoor sisters as a love interest for SRK does not suit.

Saif-Ash would be interesting or Aamir-Ash.
