The title chant 'Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii' is picked from Amitabh Bachchan's famous 'Satte Pe Satta' to add magic to the film, as Ken Ghosh explains, "The movie is about a certain type of magic – not like in 'Harry Potter' but magical emotions, hence the chant."
Based on cricket, Ken insists that it wasn't the sports angle that interested him but the script as a whole "It is one of those films that I would love to watch – that is the only criteria for me before taking up any film." A director by nature, one would expect him to give constant feedback to the director of the film, Kituu Saluja. "I ask thousands of questions before taking anybody on board, which I did, but I gave inputs only when I was itching to. I'm a very hands-on producer."
When asked why he didn't direct the film himself, Ken says, "When I heard the script, I decided that this film has to be made but I've been busy with my next venture and hence didn't have the time to direct this film. If it would have come to me a few months before, I would have definitely directed it."
Hrithik Roshan is one actor Ken would love to work with, but in this film the lead role is played by Rahul Bose. "Rahul is very picky and choosy about the films he takes up. His involvement in the film proves that the film has some substance to it."
When asked why this film will not be released internationally in spite of the fact that many Bollywood films are going West, Ken says, "Bollywood makes good cinema. We stand on our own and should stop comparing ourselves with Hollywood movies. We do not have to come on par with anybody. We should be proud of our own cinema."d_riddhi@dnaindia.net
