Ever heard of a baraat without fireworks? The Bachchans have taken a last-minute decision to shelve fireworks from the wedding day celebrations. Says a source, "The Bachchan family had plans to incorporate fireworks on the wedding day. But last night, Mr. Bachchan and his family decided to call off the idea after a meeting."

Speculation is rife about why the customary ritual has been abandoned. Says a source, "There are various reasons. Firstly, Teji Bachchan is in a critical state in the hospital, and fireworks go against their idea of a low-key marriage. Also, the baraat will proceed from Jalsa at 5 pm and reach Pratiksha at 5:30 pm. Fireworks won't make sense at that hour of the day."

The Bachchan family had suggested confetti and glitter instead, but the idea was scrapped by the event managers as they may annoy the well-dressed glitterati.

This is a joke .......they have a wedding with graneur and the splendour with everything grand and larger than life with sangeet ( song and dance ) , with loud music and with lots fun and they want to scrape fireworks coz Teji Bachan is in hospital 😆 😆 😆 .......its hilarious , how hypocritical does it sound .

This article has perfectly rounded it up

And talking of low-key affairs! Since when are more than 350 guests, a wedding card that could be mistaken for an artefact, chocolates from Switzerland, designer clothes, a sound proof structure, the venue designed by set designer Nitin Desai, serial numbers on cards (to prevent gate crashers), 100 air conditioners, an opulent doli for the to-be-Bachchan-bahu and exotic cuisines considered low-key?

The question here is not the no-holds-barred celebrations but what the Bachchans define as low-key and 'close' friends.
