Priety to defense: heats up

It's an accusation that has shaken Bollywood — Suchitra Krishnamoorthy has alleged that Preity Zinta had an affair with her former husband Shekhar Kapur.

Suchitra has gone on to blame Preity for being the reason of the break-up between her and Shekhar.

Interestingly, years ago Preity was supposed to make her debut with Shekhar Kapur's 'Tara Rum Pum Pum' - but the film never took off.

It's well known that Preity has had a serious relationship going with industrialist Ness Wadia for some time now, and she's very upset with Suchitra's allegations.

"It is unfortunate that I am bearing the brunt of someone else's paranoia. She's clearly unstable and I wish her a speedy recovery."

While the implications of that statement need hardly be explained, the matter could well turn uglier.

Of late, Suchitra — who has a daughter named Kaveri from Shekhar — has been spotted more frequently on the party circuit and has also taken to painting. She is also reported to be exploring offers in Bollywood.
