Which is your most memorable phone call?
When Shah Rukh called me on a Sunday morning....I had already signed Kya Kehna and Soldier,but Mani Ratnam met me and wanted to do a movie with me.
Since I had to leave for Australia for Soldier,he cast soemone else in his film.But he still wanted me to be in the film when I was back.
So Shah Rukh called and said 'Hi,this is Shah Rukh,is this Preity?' And I'm like is this a crank call ?. And he said 'No.this is me k-k-k-kiran.' Mani Sir wants to meet you,can you come to Delhi ?'So I flew to Delhi and they asked me if I were doing anything for the next 20 days and I said no.One day later,I was shooting for Dil Se.
It was memorable because I am a Shah Rukh fan and he did his 'K-k-kiran' bit for me personally.And also because he thought I was a man.I had just woken up with a gruff hello and he was asking "Preity Memsaab hai?".I quickly cleared my voice and said "Its me,hi,sorry for the voice.
